I've been out about 5 to 10 jumps into 0.0 space before and all i ever seem to find is pirates just as easy as .4's. Is there some secret to where you find npc battleships to kill or are they just way way out there?

Try 15+ jumps. When you do, though, NPC rats will be the least of your concerns.

I have seen one 1 jump into 0.0 a couple of days ago, guess u just need to keep killing them and eventually one will come along.

Some are in 1 jump into 0.0 (not the biggest ones, but 250k is not uncommon) - of course I will not tell where

check map for sovereignty . in 0.0 space
battleships will surely appear where the pirate corps
have sovereignty over the systems .

Yeah, in those systems you will definitely find BS rats, sooner or later (could still take days before you find any, I found half a dozen 500k ones and a couple of 250k ones in about two weeks). System can have multiple stations too.

I've been to p3en-e and I got BS npc spawning in pairs. 1x 500k and 1x 1mill with some smaller ones aswell, but as soon as i killed both bs's 2 more spawned and after those 2 2 more spawned so i had to run cuz they were getting too close. Next day i came back with another buddy and we didnt get a single one...
I tried again about a week later and no bs's again...whats going on? Do they come only at certain times?

From what i and the corp have learned they cycle between systems. ie one day you may have a system with 4/5 spawns in the belts, then for a week or more there are 0. Dont really understand it personally but thats ccp for ya 
Best thing i can suggest is to bookmark at least 4 systems that are known to have bs spawns and hope to catch them in at least one of those.
