1. Its in your "People Places" Menu if I am not mistaken. 2. Make sure you have ammo in your cargo hold...right click the weapon and click on the desired ammo to load in the dropdown menu. 3. Ok this one is easy...I think Mr Miyagi said it best....

Because you WILL get blown up. So why take your nice ship out to get blown up? Especially if your just gather info about who is there, where they camp, and if its possible to get ore anywhere where they are not. Like I said they WILL kill you.
