from a fiction prespective i'd say sure altho make them scarce and weak (since they are organic)
but from a fact prespective i just cant se it being possible..
oviusly the fact prespective generaly lack meaning in a Space game right
the problem is seriusly exactly how usefull they should be to kill.. how powerfull should they be and so on? if they would be to powerfull then the empires might stop the curent path of this "cold war escelation" that is prepairing for the faction warfare features.. and i dont think they want it to turn that way.. so far EVE has stood out when it comes to backstory elements and how well it has been handled so far..

This reminds me of those wraith-like rays that show up in the movie "Titan:AE" that fly in front of a ship and believed to carry good luck to the ship and crew when they do.

The most extreme thing I'd tolerate would be harmless rogue drones that just flit about asteroid belts without shooting at you. Ideally, they would count as a rat spawn, so that hostile rats wouldn't spawn there until they disappeared or were killed. That would be nice for miners, who would no doubt find it a welcome sight in 0.0.

If I ever see anything remotely cute and fluffly flying around my ship, it will be immediately webbed, scrammed, and annihilated.

Ambulation will be nothing if you can't have a pet furrier.

these space critters could be harvested biomass for tech 5 living ships :P -- Talking in Circles is more dizzying than walking in them...

I experienced in other games (yes I play more then EVE ) that everyone is craszy for theese pets. Even if they are completly useless (and they should be!) or even not-material (so they cannot be destroyed, but also not used or anything), they are simply cool In my Guild Wars character I have already collected 12 pets and I love every single one and would never sell it (and some of them are actually worth money on ebay... but nonono!) /signed

LOL But its a great idea. Currently EVE is too empty and this would give players something else to do for a while.
