they went with Cider to make the Mac version, which means they do not want to re-code anything. That also means at current demand, they have no intentions of re-coding the game just for PPC Macs, ecspecially when they arent even made new anymore. |

It's the only way I can play the game. Please port it to PPC Macs. It's already mostly in Python.

And the stuff that isn't in Python isn't portable to the Mac.
Upgrade to an Intel Mac. Srsly.

The mac client is using the transgaming cider implementation, which means it runs an unmodified version of the windows client with a win32 emulator. That means basically syscall redirection at a user level, which means that you need an x86 cpu.

Uhhhh no
CCP will not port it and i hope they don't.
If you think bout it there are only 2 types of Macs with PPC processors that actually can play eve.
Power mac G5's
Imac G5's
anything else would choke on eve as it is now let alone as it will be after trinity arrives.
So basically doing all the work to run on 2 specific discontinued computer systems 
I don't think so get a new intel mac they are great
the 24 inch iMac is a great computer even the better version of the 20 inch will suffice for a nice gaming experience

I have a PowerMac G5 with an X800XT graphics card. I could run EVE fine. I'd need a tower to upgrade because of all my hard drives and expansion cards. I would have to spend at least $3000 on a Mac Pro to get RAID cards and an good graphics card. I just don't have that money.

A platform that isn't made or supported any longer.
A platform that isn't compatible with Cider; that would additionally require a rewrite and a new OpenGL renderer?
A platform composed largely of aging and outdated hardware?
This isn't me hating on PPC, just presenting the facts; it's not going to happen.

Sorry m8 you seem to be that part of customer base that got porked for understandable reasons that were mentioned by Dors and other ppl.

omg I would pay extra if they switched it to PPC..i played for one day and im addicted but i played it at a friends house and I have a PPC!!! damn!!!
