Im still not bale to log in. My skill will run up tommorow =\. And my petition has not been answered. Is the email for technical support just [email protected]?
Its realyl frustrating me :( im not gunna be able to keep my account if i cant get in and make isk. ive been out for almost a week now. Anone have any suggestions? ive re-installed my client twice now. And im still getting this error. The client's local session information is corrupt, probably as a result of failed cleanup during a disconnect. Connecting to the server in this state could lead to a rather unpleasant game experience. Please restart the client prior to logging in.

Hmm. I've only ever had that problem once, and restarting EVE solved it.
You said you've tried reinstalling, how far have you gone? Try deleting any and everything associated with CCP manually, including all the stuff in your my docs folders, etc, maybe the uninstaller missed something?

Did you clear your cache folder?
c:\documents and settings\username\local settings\application data\ccp (XP systems)
Just delete the folders in there and try again. Dunno if reinstalling EVE removes the cache folder or just leaves it

Edited by: magnus amadeus on 12/11/2007 03:27:39 Hmm.... now I know you have tried to re-install eve a few times right? Did you try to re-download the installer each time you tried to re-install it? I am no software guru, but if everything else is working fine but eve, I would say it definitely has to do with the install or registry keys, maybe even a messed up firewall(maybe?)??
BTW: Regedit isn't that scary

its not just cache you need to delete you need to delete the dat files in setting folder too, be aware on xp systems the folders are naturally hidden so you hav to enable xp to show hidden files and folders too, then you need to work out which folder your settings and cache are actually in.
if your on msn I can try help you, my msn is [email protected]

I had a problem similar to that a while ago, what i got adviced to do was this:
1.Make a shortcut to eve from your desktop
2. Open properties in that shortcut and at the end of the destination ex. C:\EVE\eve.exe
3. make it look like this: D:\EVE\eve.exe /end /LUA:OFF
It worked for me, can't say it'll work for you tho. good luck!

Could be caused by a corrupt segment of your HDD if you're just uninstalling and reinstalling all the time... I had a similar problem with another computer game... Try the following:
1) Defragment your HDD Fully 2) Restart your computer 3) Defrag a second time 4) Restart 5) Download new version of EVE Installer 6) Install EVE to C:\EVE
If that doesn't work, try installing it on a different HDD if you have one...
If you don't have a different HDD, after you've defragmented the disk a second time, install a different large game on to your computer first, then try and install EVE.
Also, when you uninstall it, search your registry for 'CCP EXE', and you should find the EVE executable file... Make sure you delete that before installing it again incase it's a corrupt registry entry that's causing it.
Obviously each time you uninstall, make sure you delete all your Cache (as pointed out by others).
After that, if it still doesn't work, I don't know what to suggest.
Sorry mate!

It's against the rules, but do you have any friends that can log into your account and change your skill for you? Just to buy you some more time.
Toni Arts EasyCleaner
Try that to clean your registry after a full un-install. I've never had EasyCleaner delete anything harmful from my registry, but just be careful! ____________________

How do i know if thats the corrupted file?
It gives a message with the file name in it if theres any problem opening any file required for runtime. ______________________________

Ok, that's weird. I swear from your first edit, you said you reformatted your computer. Then you edited it again and changed it to cleaned up the registry. So which is it?

Your title was changed to claim it was fixed but you didn't say how. I would like to know as I'm currently suffering the same effect. I can say that it is limited only to one certain account as I have several and all of them are able to log in perfectly well using the same desktop shortcut. That alone argues agianst it being a hardware issue.
Does anyone know were information pertaining to indepentant accounts are located? As I've said I am able to run multiple intances of the same client at the same time with out any hitch yet this one will not get past 'preparing data'.
Natureally it would be my most active, most pvp enabled account. /sigh
