Missile launchers are ****** up from a design perspective, have always been. At some point CCP apparantly decided to not give missiles sizes like all other ammo.
If they were classified as either tiny(rockets), small(small missiles), medium(heavy missiles)* and large(torps and cruise) it would solve a LOT of problems, among them:

- you could have big rocket launchers with useful amounts of rockets in there. Having 3 in a launcher is totally ridicoulous. Same applies of course for a lot other things. BS size launchers rapidly firing light missiles, f.e.

- bigger lauchers could actually fire faster than smaller ones, if they are for the same size of missile

- CCP wouldnt have to try to nerf launchers dozens of times to f.e. discourage ppl from using torps and cruise missiles in frigates, they could matter of factly just set it so

The current solution is very illogical, impractical for ccp (hell to balance), but i fear there to stay.


*defender ones could be small or medium; beeing small would make em spammable by large ships, medium would make them impractical to counter light missiles, which would be a nice choice imho, so id make em medium
