Besides, if you look at the recent minnie ships (Hurricane, Maelstrom), you'll see that RP-wize, the minmatar are progressively dropping their garbage-and-ducttape, made-with-what-they-had ships, for more advanced and homogeneous designs. The minmatar race has been freed for a while now, they had time to make more efficient ships. ------------------------------------------ What is Oomph? It the sound Amarr players makes when they get kicked in the ribs.

In addition to the rifter, they've also shown the scythe and bellicose; both of which got revamped hull designs (as opposed to just new texturing). They look super-duper awesome, and I can't wait to see the rest of them.

They took out all the "scaffolding" type stuff that I love. That said the new caldari ships are just .... beautiful. Which I surprising because I generally hate their design.

The Tempest still looks like its fairly roughshod given the fact you have alot of open paneling on it. From what ive seen they've reduced the lots of antenna, scaffolding alpha'd little bits and gone more for a super paneled lots of strengthening corrugated beams look (ala the new Rifters front engine houseing) What I like is that the Mini ship sails look like solar panels now Guess thats why the Amarr (religouse right neo conservitives) hate the Mini's (punk eco hippies) so much... just kid'n. The new rifter looks like its made from some old giant Radio antennas 3 or 4 canabalised shipping containers for hull plating, and some air conditioning units... Mini as usual.

Posted - 2007.11.14 04:32:00 - [28] Well, the old aesthetics will return: Gallente will be the sexyest (have you seen that Megathron?), the Amarr will be the prettyest (Apoc for example, Gold and Black. . .yummy), Caldari will look the meanest (those gunmetal plates on the caldari ships look great and the flashing lights really set off all the looks), and Minmatar the ducktape. Now for those of us who have been in Matar shipss for 2 years+, we don't really fly them because they look good. But overall, the Minmatar aesthetic serves the older modeling better with all the blurry stuff, when Minmatar get cleaned up, we tend to look pretty bland next to Gallente. . .but then again, who cares. . .The changes are good, but if anyone is picking ships based on aesthetic. . .then Mini was never the right choise. -----------
