Most empire PvP corps will have a list of your members before they carry our a war declaration. Moving to a different corps will simply disrupt your operations and have the wardec follow you to your new corps.

I have personally petitioned the first time this happened to me and the GM said there was nothing they could/would do
Again, you guys are not seeing the point of what that person was suggesting. He was suggesting they leave their corp and fill it with alts. Run the corp with the alts, and then reform the corp after the war. *That* is evading the wardec.
I fail to see how either is applicable
If its full of alt running the corp, the alts can be killed instead of the mains (so the corp wont get much work done)
If its full of alts and the mains form a new corp, simply drop war and dec new corp.
If the mains stay in NPC corp then theres not alot you can do except suicide them
This happens all the time I dont see which bit you think CCP considers an exploit

I love how you ask questions highlighting your lack of knowledge of game mechanics, whilst calling a bunch of other players who are legitimatley trying to extort cash (or just want some empire pvp) from your corp a bunch of clowns.
Who knows, maybe they couldn't make it in low sec. Maybe they can still have fun in empire with war decs. Maybe they could make it in low sec. And just want a bit of a change which war decs in empire give. The fact you use that "couldn't hack it in low sec" line makes me hope they give you a thorough beating.
There's only one bunch of clowns from where I'm sitting.

We killed off the Eos and the 2 cruisers at the loss of both of our thoraxes.

Good moves.
Did you remember to include a bookmark named "This entire gang cost us less than one of those kills" in each ship's cargo?

You cant be pod killed but your pod can be suicide killed so if you are destroyed donĈt hang around warp to a safe point.
Warp core stabilizers.
People will forget that you are fighting a person they will get bored and distracted given time you can take that into consideration. Typically station camps wont last that long and if you logout for a few hours they will find that frustrating.
Jump clones are useful if your standing are good enough to use them then you should do so. Wait until a number of active hostile are camping your station then jump out. They will become disoriented.
1. Signed, don't pay them. Fight it out or sit it out.
2.Unless I've missed a patch pods are legitimate war targets. Don't stick around to find out but if you've got access to a jump lone, use it to get an empty clone. Be sure it's updated.
3. Clearly you've never been on a station camp with a dedicated purpose. I've had to station camp for hours upon hour. All they need to do is get a good book or play windowed and do some wrrk while checking their overview or listening on Vent for sightings. A corp who really wants to keep you in station will ruin your day.
4. Jump clones, again, are good. Use the, but don't be surprised if the other corp has either a) done their homework and knows where you spend your time or b) uses a locator to track you down.
In general the posts here are accurate and I think you've picked the best option. A cheap T1 cruiser gang of 2 Blackbirds, 2 Celestis, Damp Caracals and Vexors/Thoraxes/Stabbers etc. can be really nasty and push a respectable amount of DPS with a lot of e-war. Try new things, get a pilot who can use remote reps or shield transfes and fit an Exequror or Osprey. Just try everything so that you know how to do it. Your corp will be better for it at the end and you'll be better able to survive in this game afterwrds.
Good luck, Tai

Everyone create an alt. Alts join the corp, mains quit to NPC corp. Just create a separate chat channel and go about your business as usual until the 'clowns' get tired. If they shoot your main anyway, then enjoy watching Concord have a field day!
But to answer your questions.. -Concord wont lift a finger -No rules of engagement, imagine that you are in 0.0, only they cant pod you. -This will go on until the other guys get tired of paying the wardec fee (witch is pretty small) -there is the chance that these guys have been doing this for a while, and are probably pretty efficient at wiping out new corps

My pc like most can run messenger, ventrilo, 4 eve clients and Battlefield 2 at the same time so I can wait just as long as they can. Likely for me personally is to simply play with another account in eve or simply wait and play another game. A corp. that wants to keep me in the station might be able to do that but would not ruin my day. I would imagine that I could be in the position to ruin theirs.
I have station camped war targets myself and my personal problem was keeping the other players helping me with the camp vigilant and motivated.
As for jump clones they are a useful tool to help you but I completely agree that the corporation war deccing you may already have pilots waiting there. Much of this depends on the corp. that has war decced you. Be vigilant.

Edited by: Dramaan on 15/11/2007 01:29:33 I got some tips to avoid the war. make a another account who are in npc corp make profit whit him while you are at war. This you can do till the war is over.
Or you are whit main fly cheap ship like the ibis to escape or elevate the situation.
Newer fly whit implants in duration of the war.
If want to be really safe logg out of the game if you are in a camped station they may left.
If you really pu**y don't logg in to game.
Or are you a man fight them.

Well all advice which can be given already is given here.
I can just share my corps/alliance experience as we had something like that a few weeks ago too.
We were not very experienced in PvP, and the corp who deced us wanted a unusual small amount of ISK to retract the war. It would have been no problem to pay it, it wouldn't even hurt us - but we decided not to pay, grab our guns and going into war. In total we was in war for 2 weeks.
As we were unexperienced we sure had losses, but we also had kills. We lost more ships than we killed, but if you count in ISK our enemy also had to pay the war fee for two weeks and then it may have cost him more than us.
If you decide to fight just follow some rules:
1. Always check local for enemies. 2. Never fly alone if avoidable 3. If you have to fly alone choose a ship and fitting to avoid enemies (fast one or cloaked) to minimize risk 4. Don't go blind into fights, take time to analyze your enemy and his tactics 5. Analyze your own pilots strength and weaknesses. EW will help alot for example. 6. You will loose ships. Everytime you fit a ship for combat choose a ship and fitting you can afford to loose. 7. Get a jumpclone with no or cheap implants for combat.
We fought 2 weeks and as a usual non-pvp orientated player I must say it was fun. :) I lost a Falcon in the war (by my own silly fault), but mistakes happen and out of mistakes we learn. :) We collected some PvP experience and will be better prepared for the possible next time.
So we didn't regret our decision to fight. Makes some fun out of the everydays business of a more industrial orientated and mission runenr corp.

I'm not arguing that the hardest part of a station camp is keeping your gang motivated, however, I'm saying that your point about the campers getting bored and leaving could be misleading to a new CEO's expectations. If the dec'ing corp has invested the time and the ISK into the war then they're likely either a) bored anyways and a station cam at least gives them somewhere to congregate and spam local with smack or b)determined to remove the targets from their space. Either way, simply logging off or going AFK for hours, while decidedly annoying, won't break the camp. You'll just tab back from your second account or from playing Battlefield (good call by the way) to hours of smack which will be amusing to read and post on your corps' Forums. Either way, it sounds like this guy took the advice given and had some fun with this war. So kudos to him.

completely disagree. in first place, not every1 has a computer like yours to run all that stuff. in second place, when you logged on THAT specific account, you wanted to do something. and your enemy planned to do something too: station camp you. ergo, they achieved what they wanted, but you, on THAT specific account, won't be doing anything. ergo: the camp was successful and THAT specific account day is "ruined".
Quote:
I have station camped war targets myself and my personal problem was keeping the other players helping me with the camp vigilant and motivated.
station camp can totally be done half/full AFK as long as the people who is doing is have decent comms (TS/VT) and they take turns in having at least one person always on guard. been there, done that. and when my guarding turn was, i could just play in windowed mode (do that all the time anyways) and run a divx in a small window, overlapping even just where i use to have the gang chat.

true that. but i would say that 90% of wardecs nowadays are complete noob corps who just try to find easy targets in empire space. the only thing they manage to do is to check corps info to see how many members, and check a few members for their age. and thats about it.

As a corp that have been on the receiving end of Empire war decs, all I can say is this... don't smack talk in local. As a CEO I stressed this to my Corp and our wars, although a pain in the butt, passed with no animosity and in the end some friendly chats with the war deccers. of course that depends upon your corp and their corp.
To call them a bunch of clowns that couldn't hack it in low sec is a bit uncessary though
To my knowledge:
1: Any war target can be popped and podded without Concorde responding. 2: Smacking them will probably keep the war going 3: Don't fly what you cannot afford to lose 4: Always check local before undocking 5: Always use a scout before jumping to another system 6: The war will go for a minimum of a week 7: If they are not an Alliance and only have one war going then their cost is 1m per week* 8: Use a voice comms program otherwise you'll get shredded 9: Use a balanced gang and pick your fights. 10: bring any POS defenses online and/or store Research Labs (if applicable). 11: If your Corp is a tight unit, it will pull through. 12: Consider hiring mercenaries to assist you. 13: Leave an alt in the corp and go back to a NPC corp**
*the 50m quote people have mentioned above is only for an Alliance declaring war, as per this dev blog
**I strongly advise against this; although not an exploit to leave your corp, *if* you do it repeatedly then you might get GMdokonned. I say repeatedly cos as soon as you rejoin the corp, you can expect them to wardec you again.
Good luck.

Most active way of doing this is fit full cheep and cheerful and go for expensive targets.

I would advse against counter hiring mercs unless you have isk to burn. They are needlessly expensive, spend the money you would spend on mercs on a veritable fleet of tech 1 cruisers instead :)

Some bad advice in this thread...and just to correct one flawed game mechanic point...you can indeed get podded in empire during a dec...in fact expect it to happen...
If you can't handle the war decc'ing corp yourself...hire a merc outfit to come and lay waste to the aggressors. There are several notable corps who for a price will make the problem go away...

Edited by: Captain Thunk on 16/11/2007 13:19:03 With 80% of the games population living in High Sec Empire with no interest in combat with players at all, I think CCP should get a move on with Ambulation, Dancing Animations, Customizable Personal Rooms, Pets, Planetary Ambulation, Ship-car-washes, user defined ship decorations and modifications (I always thought the B-52 Bomber models used in Freelancer looked really good when set in space, and I demand animated propellers when we get them) and speech bubbles appearing above our avatars.
or we could have PvP...wait...sorry I was being ridiculous there, many apologies everyone, I fully understand that PvP should only occur in 0.0 because High Sec Empire is the "safe zone" where such things should not be allowed to occur as it puts everyone of the game as they only signed up to collect their characters pet and do a spot of mining.
Infact I think we should convert this thread to send a powerful message to CCP that we as a community will not stand for Empire wars anymore, it's disgusting, it's wrong, it's unfair, it's griefing, it should be entirely removed from the game.
Edit: oh yes, some advice. If you want a 100% cure to your war - set a long skill and log off for a week, ask your corpmates to do the same - watch TV, take the wife out, talk to the kids, go see a few films...there's plenty to do out there. You can be sure the aggressors won't bother extending the war.

Funny you said they are clowns because they can't "hack it in low sec". Funny, because that must mean you are also a clown since you are not hacking low sec either by allowing yourselves to be war dec'd in Empire.
As far as what you are in for with a war, it's anyone's guess. My corp has kept corps and alliances dec'd for months on end until they pay up or quit or permadock for weeks on end. Once they pay we never re-declare them as long as no hostile actions are taken against us.
If you think that jumping to another corp will stop them, it's possible but with us, we just keep decing each corp you jump to. Especially the mouthy types like yourself.
Don't be fooled by people telling you it's an exploit to jump to another corp to evade war decs. I have confirmed this with GM's several times over that it is not an exploit.
Also, don't be fooled into thinking it's considered harassment when your new corp gets dec'd by the same people every time you jump to a new one. It's not. I have had several interactions with GM's on this one as well, and they have confirmed it over and over, if you jump corp to a new corp, your oppenent can follow and dec the new corps over and over.
How much ISK are they asking for a surrender fee anyways?

That tactic is petionable/bannable. I don't recommend you try it.
If you decide to undock, make sure you keep a close watch on local. If someone with a red star next to their name jumps in and if you don't intend to fight, dock immediately.
Do not haul stuff around in a hauler without someone scouting you.
Do not jump into a system without knowing what is on the otherside.
Don't undock in/with anything you can't afford to loose.
If they do manage to catch you and blow up your ship, don't smack talk them. They killed you fair and square because you ignored my previous advice. Smack talking them only makes you look like a newb and actually encourages them to hunt you more.
If you must say something in local, say something like Good Fight.
Good luck on your war.
How did you word your petition? Because some corp wardeced us and then their members immediately joined a NPC corp, leaving a 3 day old alt as CEO.
I tried to petition it but GM kicked back after war is over and said they can't force them to fight.
Edit: Sorry it's off the topic, but I would like to know if its indeed an exploit.
