Check out Bounty & TookUrStuff.
Neither channel is nearly as great as they once wore.
However, there are people there who'd be more then happy to help.
In Bounty you've got a lot more people, but most of them are not the smartest players in EVE.
In TookUrStuff you've rarely got more then three people, but those in there are more then willing to help.
TOOKURSTUFF > BOUNTY... but then again, I am only saying that because I'm nostalgic. Back when I joined EVE, on my first day, I was invited to TOOKURSTUFF. Back then it normally had 20+ people. I've never left sense... I'm not even a pirate.

Welcome to the YARR side Leo, don't mind the trolls, all Pirates started out somewhere.
You have very high goals but may I suggest baby steps at first.
Buy a bunch of frigates and wander into lowsec, attack everything. This way you'll get used to losing ships and you will lose plenty but you'll learn what you can and can't kill.

You might want to think about checking out Amamake...it is a pirate haven (so to speak) at any rate it is a good place to start making your name.
