... anyone got an idea on how do I use it? It tells a beautiful story, as follows:
"This salvaged data from a destroyed Sansha vessel reveals the following: "Must follow the rules set by Master Sansha. Must find my fellow True Slaves at XXXYYY, Moon 1. We must work together to enforce Master's will."
I've gone to that place, but there was nothing, and nothing happened. Scanned deeply, and still nothing. How is this supposed to work?...

I too had received a msteriously encrypted message. It led me to a moon but nothing was to be found. I did not try my scanner but I did check other possibilites in the system and found nothing.
GM said "Sin: Might not work" when I told him I was on my way to check out the roots of this message. So defective? Extremely hard? Impossible? Who knows.
I just hope that I can uncover the pirate hideout and eliminate them from the system since DED was incompetent in uncovering the hideout and as was I.

It's my guess that, like we've seen with a few other scenarios & various content, it wasn't 100% implemented somehow, and they'll "get it fixed soon(tm)". So hold onto them, might come in handy later.

This salvaged data from a destroyed Sansha vessel reveals the following: "Sometimes my head hurts. Perhaps it's the Master's implants. I must be better at tolerating pain. Master wouldn't want me to feel pain. I must do what the Master wants. I feel compelled to go to the *** moon of ***. I am sure I'm being directed there to increase my pain threshold. Then I could serve better."
Checking it out now

I got a log from a blood raider ship... It was coded except for a system and moon... which was deep in 0 space... I don't know if I wanna go there without knowing what the message means.

Edited by: cashman on 03/03/2004 18:15:15 This salvaged data from a destroyed Guristas vessel reveals the following:
"Three days in base was all I had and I'd better use the short time well. I was speaking with Chief Scout Kaikka Peunato about our outposts in ******, when he mentioned a hideout of ours that I wasn't familiar with. He told me that if I got into trouble, I could always go back to the moon of ****** for repairs and rearming. It surprised me that I hadn't heard about it before, and I'll be sure to check it out, if not only to check his credibility."
And it's also in deep deep 0.0 space
edit: On a sidenote, the log says the system is in Venal, but it isn't. Don't CCP know their own world?

the flavour of that particular message/mission is proably that you dont know till u actually get there, there will be know way of knowing till you do.

I've dropped several of them, including some kinda encrypted messages, but a GM confirmed they're bugged. That is, not working, so I guess you can stop the wild goose chase. Save them for a future fix. Oh, and a suggestion: don't try to stack them 'cause, yes, they're stackable, but that way they will loose their "unique" description and code, and you will find yourself staring at a stockpile of dozens of SHIP LOGS... all of the same kind!

I confirm what there is nothing at specified location.
Also i wonder if loot from that locations will depend on difficulty of a pirate, dropped that referral.

well i went 10 jumps to check out the location on mine, nothing there. While i was hanging around someone else turned up with the same mission, so they are not unique.... thinks its a question of first come first served? (when they actually work of course)

Yah thats a ****ING good implentation that! To have it so that lots of people get the same mission and only one person ever finds the loot or whathave you... really gonna make going on those missions only time and time to find nothing there, a popular in game pastime.

Well I just followed upon one of these ship logs, go to the system and then I find out there isnt anything near the moon the log mentioned, so I started scanning around and after a while scanning I found that the location(3 flotsams) was 2000 kms from the nearest moon. So I jumped into a fast frig with mwd and awhile later when I get there, I find 3 flotsams with nothing of value in them (log hinted at that there were drugs there) and 4 serp smugglers and 1 serp merc. That so didnt feel like it was worth the time I spent on finding this.
so well, when you get to the system the log points you to, scan around and be prepared to do long mwd runs.

A reply from a dev would be helpful. Dropping bugged items after a patch isn't a way to keep the game's quality up. Come on guys. Throw us a bone here.

I'd say they arent bugged.. just quite hard to find... not like the PoI, just warp to the correct planet/moon and there you go...
At least I managed to find mine, even though it was pretty much useless

Edited by: Balof Faellin on 04/03/2004 00:25:34 I had MWD'd right up to the moon, and there was nothing (even on longest scan range). Then I get podded on the way back, super
So basically I lost my ship, used a clone, and lost the only Implant I had for nothing.

It seem these logs are at least in some way generic. I picked up 4 of them in the same system. 3 of my own killings, the last from a can left by someone else, and they are the same exact log.
Didn't bother jumping over there because I heard they were bj÷rked.

just a stupid question - but as nobody mentioned it I wonder if you had the logs with you when visiting the location mentioned on the log ... (or if the log was left behind in your Hangar?)
