Personally, I'm going to go for food poisoning, going to wait a few days after release until the servers are stable, then I'm gonna phone up work, feign my illness and have some quality time looking at all the pretty stuff 
What is your ailment going to be to get out of work?

Awesome. I've not used a single sick day in 4 years, I'm Mr Invulnerable or something. That means I've got a lot of days coming to me so I'm gonna have to think of something big. Perhaps the black plague?

My jobs sucks arse, I have 1 sick day usually per year and I hate my job, my managers and getting paid minimum wage for working my arse off takes the **** tbh, my hours suck too.
I would go to another job, but I fear all companies in the UK are inept.
If I had a career, good wage, intelligent managers I wouldn't bother with doing it, but sadly, that is not the reality

Why would you want to pull a sick-day for EVE, I save my "sick-days" for parties, or just days I don't feel like going to work. I get 2d every month, and I don't use them to often, so I have a lot saved up. Not to mention "personal" and "vacation" time, man I really need to start taking for paid days off. Sigh.

Sorry to hear :( I would realy advice you to look for a other Job. You know the job is a big part of your life, and life should be fun and satisfiable and if not in GB, you are nativ english speaker - nearly the hole world is open for you!
on topic: I am freelancer so I just don't work for a week, and charge double in the next week - or so

What about if youÆre self employed? I know I never believe those sick day excuses I always tell myself so I can go out instead of writing. Hiring myself was the worst mistake I have ever made.

I had 2 weeks leave these first 2 weeks of november in preparation for Trinity cause it was mentioned that trinity was slated for November.
If it falls on an early shift week I should be home from work after its DT period
If it falls on my late shift week Its gonna freak me out all shift so I'll pray it all goes **** up and its has extended DT till the morning :)

At my job, all your 'vacation'/'sick'/'personal'/'earned absence' days are lumped into one big pool you can dip from at any time with no questions asked. So literally, I'd just have to call in and say "I'm not gonna work this week." And that'd be that, no fabrications necessary.
