Hail everyone,
i have been pondering which ship would be best as a wingman in duo with a caldari friend...(for missionning lvl 4 atm)
basically willing to fit 2 roles : frig killer since my raven friend has some problem hitting them, and EW on the bigger ships to help him take them down faster.
i have only 2M SP atm... so you see, i'm still quite a noob, thus i direly need you advice.
As a battleship, what would like to have as a "super drone" on you side ? :p
i was thinking going to assault frigate ?
or is there a better ship choice for this ?

PS : i like fast ships, so if i could wingman in a fast ship, i would love it even more.

if its for frig killing id say the amarr destroyer. cant remember what its called but i know destroyers own frigs

harbringer should be your choice
it works fine for me and one of our new pilots when i take him at missions and rating teaching him the basics and helping him making some good money.

thanks for your quick replies,
about the destroyer, i had one (blew up yesterday night in a crazy aggro spawn mission ^^) but 1 med slot is really poor you can't fit AB + any EW...so you kill frigs and then you're useless :x
for the harbringer, how can i use it's special bonus for warfare link ? is it important ?
any other proposal ? (the more the better at this point ^^)

Itd be a boring job, but salvage/looter would be the best bet. A raven can field 5x hamerhead IIs and 5x Hobgoblin IIs in its dronebay, so anti-frigate work isn't a big deal. Just kill the scramblers w/ drones/missiles (esp on mwd approach) and the raven can kill the other frigates with the drones at his leisure.
Grabbing all mission loot and salvaging the wrecks isn't exciting, but its a massive time saver, and a big boost in ISK/Run. Destroyers make for among the best salvagers in EVE atm, so its easily attainable for a newer pilot.

i was helping out in a gank fitted omen vs frigs when i flew as wingman and fitted a target painter which really helps the damage of bs (especially torp ravens).
most time effective would be salvager ofc, but i doubt that would be much fun for you.

I'd actually suggest an arbitrator. You've got both ewar, and a useful drone bay (drones are great anti-frigates).
Destroyers are handy.
Cap transfer from an Augeror can be rather sweet too.
If you're level4-ing, I'd suggest you should be thinking in terms of salvagers and tractors as well though. That's the really useful way of helping a mission runner go faster.

Armageddon.
It's like Gunnery Sergeant Hartman's Marine corps; it kills everything it sees.
As an alternative the Apoc, half guns and half logistics modules means that your friend rarely needs to worry about his tank, two large shield transfers is enough that he could free up mids for painters himself.
Assault frigs and similar are awkward if you have a problem with agro management - the buffer they have is better (and more heavily resisted) than a T1 frig but if a whole load of rats start whaling on you it doesn't help as much as it seems.
Cruisers like the Arbitrator are quite efficient (and it can be fitted with quite a potent passive shield tank - though that negates your EW).

with all your proposals and infos i began to play a bit with a fitting tool... i'm sure i made many noobish choices but still... i see 2 things emerging :
- assault frigates are sub par to BC for the frig kill +EW role i want to fit.
- i don't really see in which area the Prophecy is superior to the Harbringer ? (which is a shame, because i LOVE the Prophecy design)
if you can enlight me... ?

Prophecy's got a better tank, that's about it.
And honestly, I'd be a bit of an Arbitrator support monkey, fly drones to support DPS while using the highs to tractor/salvage.
