If they mis the 11th of december I really do hope that they will have enough balls to either cancel everyones holydays around christmass/new year (which can't be forced most likely since here in europe we have nice laws about that sort of things) or that they will postpone the release till early january.
Having a bogged down game during the last weeks of december/early januari with significantly less personel/inhouse knowledge at CCP doesn't seem like the ideal situation for us as players.

Ill rather have a smooth transition into it, I say let them take the time to perfect it, Its better to have a later release with less flaws then a early and bugged release.

winter starts with the winter solstice (21st dec. or 22nd dec) and lasts til spring equinox (20th/21st march)
so theoretically CCP has another 4 months to deliver, if you interpret winter 2007 in the colloquial way, meaning the winter which started in 2007 (igoring the fact that it stretches long into 2008)

as i said, the colloquial meaning of winter 2007 means the winter which started in 2007, but it also extends to the winter period in early 2008. if you talk of the harsh winter of 2000, you are talking of Dec 2000 til march 2001, and not jan-march 2000 plus dec 2000.
I agree that the definition preferred by the playerbase is that trinity should be delivered til the 31.12.2007, but ccp probably might want to stretch it as long as they can if they do need more time..

According to Wikipedia the season start date depends upon which system you use.
Winter either starts:
Early November
1st December
21st December
Using those definitions and Wranglers comment I think it is possible to narrow the release date down to: SoonÖ
n.b it also, of course, depends upon your hemisphere; however being as the southern hemisphere winter has been and gone I think it is safe to assume the release date refers to the northern hemisphere winter.

Of course, CCP is from Iceland. So "This Winter" could mean any time between July 31st 2007 and June 1st 2008. I mean, don't you guys only have the two seasons of "Winter" and "Almost Winter"?
