Genocya Zolan	Posted - 2007.11.20 12:36:00 - [1] Has anyone dropped one of the shield tanked mid slots in favour of MWD and gone for an autocannon fit? If so how does it compare to the likes of the Hyperion etc My race is minmatar but the more i pvp the more i enjoy in your face engagement. This made me consider cross training to Gallente with ships like the Deimos, Megathron & Hyperion that fit the bill. Of course the Minmatar have the awesome Vaga but the tempest seems less than the Mega in terms of tank and dps and the Maelstrom seems to be confined to long range combat. Please correct me if i am wrong Geno

Linas IV	Posted - 2007.11.20 13:02:00 - [3] My Mealstrom works pretty nice with ACs: highs: 8x800mm II Meds: 100mn MWD II Heavy Cap-Booster II (800 charges) XL-Shieldbooster II Shieldboost-Amp II 2x Invuls II Lows: 3x Gyros II 1x DCU II 1x Co-Proc. II Rigs: Falloff-Rigs Tanks about 750 DPS for 2-3 mins and Deals 700DPS with Barrage at great Ranges. This ship must not fear a Mega, but it needs someone to tackle though.

Additionally you don't need to MWD to someone to actually damage them. A better ship then the megathron/hyperion in almost every way. Switching a hardener for a second boost amp bumps it to 1080 dps tanked with some buffer lost.

But ya use the dual SBA and dual Invuls the a heavy cap booster and either a XL SB II or a Thon's mod SB. Thon's is uba sexy. use one therm and one em rig. I generally dont fit the warp disrupter. And I dont use 4 gyros. I use 3 with a DCU II and a CPU up. I lost this sexy beast when I got BSed by friendlies . Luckily they didn't recover my thon's. It's been revealed that your setup isn't at all special (like everyone who says 'it's top secret'), and now you look foolish. There isn't even anything on it that would give you a particular advantage over someone who didn't know what modules you had fitted (aside from the high boost amount). _

That sounds a little half-assed to me. I would think this tank works better and costs less: Pith C-Type XL, DG boost amp, 2x DG invuln -- Guile can always trump hardware --
