There are jokes and jokes.
Some are fun and others are like this one...
Having to eat every hour in a game where people are sitting in fluid filled pods with tubes taking care of everything from nourisment to waste dispoisal.
Considering even the smallest ship is about the size of a 3 story apartment building Im fairly certain that they would be able to find space for intravenous drip nourisment bags, I meen that is tech we can deal with today.
As for the rest, sure it will be an isk sink... but not a very viable one as it will hit the new and poor players alot harder than the wealthy and old ones (and lets face it its us they need to target).
Moreover people would become so anoyed with the pointless time sink that eating would create that the forums would fill with "remove feature or I quit" posts.
Lastly then, Imagine being in a battle for a key system and suddenly hear from one wing that they need to be off to eat, no, mommy isnt calling, their chars needs to eat.

I propose they add stoning as an ambulation feature so we all get to take care of jenny in game.

How should it be a significant ISK-sink?
Even the poor starters would need to eat. So food would be cheap.
Or do you want it a stupid way like high-skill-point-chars need luxury food?
Or when you are superrich and you want to eat a sandwich, a message pops up: "You have 178878887878^999 ISK and prefer caviar, which would cost you 827736^69 ISK. You can't eat a sandwhich"?

Make it like clone cost. You pay your food according to your skill points. New players pay food cheaply and vets pay food less cheaply.

Contrary to your belief most players aren't super rich.
And the best way to destroy farming is to make it easier to earn isk.
Making compulsory Isk sinks would produce more farmers for the people who stayed in the game would need more money ( mind you loads might just leave as it's too much hassle mining or ratting for days just to have minutes of pvp )

A better solution for an isk sink would be a daily tax for every day spent in empire. The tax would be charged by whoever owned soverenty of the system.
This tax could be very small fraction of a % of liquid isk and then rounded down to the nearest 1,000 or 1,000,000 isk so that for the average player it would be 0 isk or negligable isk and for the very rich players it would be a small trickle away from them daily that they could choose to counter by holding non isk assets or making more isk than they are taxed.
The problem with any other method is that isk accumulates in the hands of people who can choose to have very limited or no expenses rather than moving around the economy, and so any isk sink should concentrate on the high end liquid isk owners.

This new Jenny Spitfire is a walking case against character trading.
Your idea assumes that wealth goes hand in hand with skillpoints, which is a fallacy. It's also the most arbitrary game mechanic I've heard of, and I have a lvl 70 Mage in WoW.
We have clones that tie costs into skillpoints. I think that's as far as it should go.

Exactly my thoughts. Optional, check. Fun, check. ISK sink, check. It would be good if players and corps could make stuff to gamble on, and set their own rules, odds, payouts, and so forth. You could go to the station to place your bets on a PVP tournament, for example, and then fly out and watch it.
