I think they are getting younger. from what i have observed from the message/replies from people in forums and the chat windows in EVE. It wasn't like this before.

My "I don't care what other people think" attitude has been the right one for 4+ Years now.
Really, if a guy starts smacking local, i ignore. If a guy starts witty remarks off topic, i reply the constructive ones. Both are thinking, I don't get a response, I must have sucked. Especially the young, but also the elder.
This is a grown up game, I act like one and succeed.

I seem to remember a figure of about 26 years old. The average age from MMOs as a whole is closer to 28, so EVE is on the young side if that is to be believed.

does average age matter at all? ive met a lot of older people that act more childish then their younger counterparts. and anyways, it gives us pvpers more people to shoot that "know what they are doing"

Although I think EVE's playerbase is older than most MMOs, there's really no way to determine it, since a person under 18 (or whenever you're old enough to get a credit card where you live) will use their parents card, thus showing the age of the parent and not themselves when CCP look up the numbers.

I am 24. I think such a complex game fails to keep hold of young players because they just dont understand the financial side to the game and want everything given to them on a plate.
On top of that its a frustrating game at times so Teenagers probably find it harder to not go on a rampage when they loose alot of stuff

Not necessarily. In general, whenever obnoxious people post on forums, it drives reasonable, mature people out. Simply because EVE is growing, you are inevitably going to get more obnoxious people, some of which will post on forums, driving out mature people. This will happen simply because even if the percentage of immature people remains constant, the absolute number will increase, increasing the absolute number of flamewars/etc on forums.

If noone has said it, no, it hasn't changed from the "old golden days" at all. Same EVE, different wrapping.
It's just the slight misconception that this is an ADULT game, that makes people think that. To be quite the flarning honest here...wow has more maturity then EVE *waits for the gods to strike him down* It's true!

I have no real problem with "children" playing EvE, only in that it incurs a little sadness towards them, I would not be happy at all to have given up my active and cheery outdoor childhood to play an MMO as much as kids these days do.

I think a better number is your Eve Life Factor... or ELF.
Mine is 151
To figure this out... simply take your real age and multiply it by how many years you've been playing.
(age) x (gameplay) = ELF
Then find what it means, check the following chart:
1-50 = BIG NOOB
51-100 = NOOB
101-150 = CAREBEAR
151-200 = GODLIKE
Whew... I had to round up, but I just made it!

I still laugh like an idiot when I blow people up and they whine.
EVE is my dirty little secret and I like it that way. If I was Kal Shakai in RL I would have been given a lethal injection by now.

It doesn't take a lot to bring any average mental age down a few notches, booze is one way...online games another
