Just exactly what are ruins? i hear they are structures found in some missions and lowsec and stuff like that, but is there anything in a structure`s name that i can use to identify it as something that i can use the analyzer on?

Ruins are special kind of containers found in proffesion site for archeology/salvaging (found with magnetometric probes).
They will usually have "building-sounding" names, can't remember what they were really..
To access them you need archeology skill and analyzer module.
Hope that helps

About those containers, are they worth to give a look? What items can be found?

Edited by: Noreena14 on 21/11/2007 20:57:17 I have both the skills and the module for analyzing, what i lack is that mag. scanner, But, before i go wasting any training time on any additional skills required, do i need to go into low sec to find these "containers"?
P.S thanks for the help

No, no "need" to do it, but its much more profitable to do so. It's even more profitable to do it in 0.0.

Ruins mostly yield t2 rigs bpc and/or parts for building them. Derelicts and wrecks mostly yield t1 rig components, in pretty large quantities.
2-3 months ago arcsal were less profitable than hacking. But recently price of blueprints from some hacking sites gone down while price of some rigs went slightly up, so it's worth to take a look.
Also, you don't need "mag scanner". Just magnetometric probes. There are the same kind as radar probes. If you can use radar or gravimetric you can use megnetomeric.
Fly safe, find neat stuff and feel free to give me ISKiez ;)

thanks for all the help everyone, and i meant to write mag. scan probes, but i was also wondering....Is it ONLY magnetometric probes that pick up these "containers"?

Edited by: Insidi Us on 22/11/2007 03:41:28 They won't pick up the containers. They will pick up the site that contains the containers. Basically you won't search for "Gurista Derelict," you'll search for magnetometric sites until you get one down to sift range, warp in, and the containers will pop up on your overview right then or after you hit some trigger (like killing the last BS in the grid).
Basically yes, if you specifically want to go after arcsal containers, you can only find them using magnetometric probes. Well, technically you CAN find them with the others, but you'll die of old age before you finish.

While you most likely will never find arcsal site with radar probes, you will get signal from unknowns, regardles of probe type you use (possible exception is grav but i'm not sure).
So if you have mag and unknown signal from your multispec and you pinpoint one signal with mags - don't be too fast to destroy remaining quests, just the one you need to deploy smaller probe.
Many times I have jumped on some stupid plex instead of hacking site in such situations...
