There's possibly another video coming, but not on piracy this time. When my character was still just over a month old I was out ratting BS spawns in 0.0 to make isk, but most people in noob corp chat didn't believe it was possible. Therefore I might make a tutorial video to show new low sp players how its possible to efficiently rat 0.0 in cheap disposable setups. Haven't been out there for a while though (or even logged in for more than 15 mins for that matter) so I've still got to capture footage.

In your video you engaged a Rupture. Isn't that a fairly scary thing to do? If that rupture had webbed you wouldn't things have gone in the Ruppies favor? If not please explain... I can't imagine flying a ruppy without a web and my first instinct if engaged by a frig is to web it as getting webbed is my biggest fear in my rifter.
I'd also like to ask why an afterburner over an MWD. Isn't an Afterburner too slow to catch a wary ratter before they warp? Is it possible to speed tank a rifter with no afterburner once you reach orbit?
Sorry your video was great and gave me lots of questions lol...

A well setup cruiser will always win over a frig. As a belt pirate you rely on ppl with ships that aren't that good set up (in other words noobs). If theres someone in low sec in a belt ratting they are most certainly noobs, if they are not, its usually a trap.
The AB might be better for a noob cause it will save cap and fitting. Secondly if you are webbed by a 75% web you can perma run AB close to the cruiser and you might have enough transversal to avoid the cruisers guns even webbed. You couldn't do this with MWD as it burns your cap and makes you as easy to hit as a cruiser.
Also most ratters warp to the belt at 0. You can always wait for the ratter to go to next belt in system and warp to 0 to make sure he will be close to you and thereby ensure a tackle even without MWD.

Using an AB over a MWD will not result only in low capacitor consumtion or maintaining speed more, will also keep the low signature radius while increasing transversal velocity. Even webbed, the transversal was high enough to cause some misses ensuring Rifter's survivability. Motoko is quite experienced to notice that and use it. Also, he knew he was going to be webbed, that is why he used AC insead of artilery. I have a rifter with 250 artilery and a MWD and i have no problem keeping the mwd running permanently while orbiting at around 20km. Another thing is a pirate knows he has one advantage in a belt, even the class of the ship is inferior: the pirate is relying on the npc to finish the opponent's ship. I though you learned that Cooch by noon (most of your kills relies on this exploit). As for the scanning, it is good for learning, but there is a faster way: 1. Set the scan on 180 degreees 2. Use the 180 degrees vision to scan the larbord or starbord of the ship 3. Then from the 180 degrees, decrease the scanner to 90 degrees and move it to the left or right of the side of the ship 4. Norrow the scanner this way until you have a 5 to 30 degree clear of any other group of celestial object. 5. Focus on the group left and hover you mouse cursor over that group. A chain of celestial objects will appear: planets, gate, belts, moon. 6. If you don't know where to go, first warp to the planet(s) and redo the precedure from 1, but keeping in mind that your interests are those celestial object you first scanned. 7. In the end you will find your target using this procedures faster than Motoko instructed. Keep in mind that pressing ALT will reaveal any celestial object.
I know it sound complicated, but in facts is actually easy. I usually find a target less than a minute, depending on the size of the sistem.

wow, this is awsome, my first piracy was in this wonderful ship and i just bought two rifters to go back to basics, i am currently downloading the vid, maybe i can take some tips from you. For anyone who want's to start pvp, watch this video and use the rifter, it's an awsome beginning, and it's also a great break from losing expensive ships.
