Players that have already trained them(like myself) can just buck up and not whine. You do not see me asking for SP back for things that I have trained that have been nerfed to uselessness. It's a game- get over changes that will be good for the health of the game.
what about the people that Max trained them, and prior to the modification that CCP did allowing new users to get Advanced Learning quicker (only with basic learning up to the 4th box)? This took users back then almost 6 months total! Now you can shave off a month with the modifications. Which Shafted everyone who did it before out of a month or more of skill point training.
Your opinion on this will further the damage another 5-6 months for anyone who invested the time in maxing out learning. Like you said, you already trained them and are not going to whine if they are nerfed.. It's generous of you to not care that you've invested time training the learning skills and now they would either be removed or granted to all new players upon a character roll. However I will whine, and many others will that have spent the time doing it will also. You have your opinion that the right thing for the game is to remove learning to benifit new players, and i've got mine which that we should not do that because learning skills add depth to the game.
I really don't see learning being such an issue. new users can easily learn the basic skills to the 3rd box on each. new users often get a few learning skills out-of-the box, with some up to the 4th box already! (do you realize that?) if you were to train all the basic learning skill, plus learning itself like that, you'd end up with bringing all your attributes up 3 points-plus. that's not so bad, and it's quick. especially considering that (like i said) you get a few learning skills already when you roll the character.
what most people are complaining about is the fact that a lot of old players have brought up the advanced learning skills to the 4th or 5th box and have added a bunch more attribute points.
well - yeah, when the VETS did this they were not UBER VETS. They were progressing along as relatively new characters. what i'm trying to say is that they "INVESTED TIME" to do this, with the understanding that each box would increase their attribute an additional point. What's the problem here! Why do people constantly want new users to have everything and be on equal footing with older players. as a new player two years ago I could of complained that i wanted to be equal to all players that came before me, but i realized that i have choices in this game. Learn the skills i want.. Learning increases your attributes (what a cool idea).
We already have obsolete skills such as "Starship Command". the skill is forsale, but everyone get's the thing when you roll a character. We don't need anymore obsolete skills floating around.
This game is about always having someone better than yourself in the universe.. Richer.. Smarter.. Whatever.. If we dumb it down, it won't be eve.. It will be an arcade game.
