For that money you can get a pimp PC. Look to boutique rig designers and build a dream rig. Examples of "Rolls Royce" computer system in the US would be Alienware or Falcon Northwest (actually Falcon is more the leet builder...like a Maybach to Alienware's Mercedes).
If you want to build a PC on your own use Falcon to build one on the web site and see their choices.

Meh.
My advice to you would be to buy mid-range and to upgrade more often instead.
There's a law of diminishing returns at work where you pay a price premium for buying on the bleeding edge.
There's no such thing as future proofing with PCs either. Like it or not todays throbbing Alienware monstrosity is going to be superseded by tomorrows cheapo mail order machine.
Spending a grand now and again in a year / two years time either on another mid-range machine or on upgrades would probably be a much more efficient use of your money.
Dell aren't sexy but you can build the XPS 720 into a very passable gaming rig for around a grand. EVE RELATED CONTENT |

No matter what PC you get, make sure it comes with Windows Vista Ultimate 32bit!

Spending that much on a PC is stupid, and buying an Alienware/etc even moreso.
1. Get a Core 2 Quad. 2. Get 2GB of RAM minimum. 3. Get Windows XP 32-bit. 64-bit has too many compatibility issues still, and Vista is a load of horsecrap. 4. Get at least an 8800GTS with that kind of cash.
