It's not profit because you had 50mil in assets before you sold the minerals as well as after. You just didn't know it. You made that 50mil worth of mins while mission running, not by selling the mins. Now if the mins were worth 50mil, and you sold them to someone for 60mil, then you would have realized 10mil in profit.

put the mins for sale at an extra value happy meal cheap price in a nice low sec station. When your wallet blinks, go gank buddy who just gave you isk, loot, rinse n repeat

They aren't an asset if they aren't doing anything. A module in my ship is an asset, one sitting in the hangar is just an object. Minerals do nothing by themselves. When I turn them into a ship or sell them directly, then they have been converted from hangar trash into an asset. Selling them for 10M more than "normal" price is just getting a good deal, it's not any more profit than the original 50M.

ISK is a currency. Currency is used as a medium to exchange goods for their appropriate VALUE. If minerals weren't worth anything then you'd get 0 ISK out of selling them. All you've done is turn 50M in minerals into a currency so you can trade that currency to someone else because 50M in minerals doesn't interest them. Your profit is 0 in that transaction. Like someone has said if you managed to sell for 60M despite the cost of the minerals being 50M then you've made an increase of 10M in profits.
The 50M in profit was from missioning not from the sale, but that's just technicalities really, no point really arguing about that.

I hope that kinda economic logic isn't running too deep within the BOBs, I was just starting to think you guys had a chance.
Its not a "BoB tactic"...its a "personal tactic". He asked for suggestions and I told him what I do with my loot. Also about BoB, I have nothing to do with our industry and/or logistics, try to be better informed before you start flaming.

Well that's obvious, from the sounds of things if you'd been involved in BoB logistics the war would've been over a long time ago.
Let me guess, you never wanted that ship anyways

One other thing to consider - yeah, i've got crappy reprosessing skills and my blue prints arn't maxed and my standing with this is this station isn't what it could be .. but you know what - I'll be buggered if i'll sell these nice minerals.
Eve is pure pvp - even when you're making a profit on mineral sales you're actually helping someone else :)
I turn mine into inefficient ammo and ships and stuff... for me. |

Well you could allways travel to a n00b system, jettison some minerals outside the school station and broadcast in local that your corp has a special offer today for new players of free minerals......
