Stellar Vix State War Academy	Posted - 2007.11.27 21:08:00 - [31] Dear Dominix, Pink is not a color your going to receive upon the upgrade, rhoden has selected a new color for thier ships in the comming weeks, a color that looks very closely to what humans oftenly bleed. This agressive and far darker tone sets a new level of frieght for those whom used to laugh at the comical pink thorax but now face something that looks like a dagger that just got done gutting somone. Im sure the upgraded variant will receive thier dark blood color just fine. SWA PVP

It still, very literally, looks like a flying lump of poo. People often say "That thing looks like S---" about a wide variety of objects, and this is merely a subjective qualification of appearance. But when you say that about the Dominix, this description is making an objective statement regarding it's uncanny physical resemblence to a large chunk of human excrement. The entire model needs to be thrown out, not just reskinned.

Meanwhile, all those Roden ships you mentioned now look fantastic because their pink has become blood red, and mixed with the strong black secondary patterning you end up with vessels that have a real predatory look to them. ...Of course, the Enyo is still an assault frigate and the Eris remains a split high slot mess of a ship, but hey, at least the Ares is now a legitimate & worthwhile vessel. It's not the skintone, it's that broadhead prow, the squeezed off tail, and every damned thing in between. The whole planform is a mess. At least the mega looks nice 'n' beastly now, and my beloved Hype...well, can't say the colors are great (I loved the bronzed look of the old engine) but at least the hull's shape is properly shiplike and doesn't make me want to go wipe a few extra times. Sigh. And I really hoped for something more where the Domi was concerned. ___________________________________ Wielder of the Trout of Doom(tm)! ___________________________________ Redo the Domi hull for Trinity 2. Scrap the upside down shoe! Do it!

Cool blue suits The Snowman just fine though I will mourn the bright orange hull that was the shuttle

Could I just have a rustbucket Domi please, RogueDrone faction Domi would be the coolest ever, as long as it isn't a baby color. Brown rust with holes in the surface would be most excellent. Give the glitterboys their shiny toys, and give me stuff that says function over form, even in coloring. Baby blue says something completely different, perhaps even worse then a pink thorax. The white with black spots mentioned would work too. I'll still fly it of course, no matter what it looks like.

Im just not seeing the shineys here.. all these matt pastels on the gallente ships? is that intentional? would you drive a car painted using interior wall paint? do you see car/bike manufacturers using matt paint on their vehicles? what am i missing here.. and the texture on the myrmidon now looks to be of a LOWER RESOLUTION than the one on TQ.. double-u-t-eff mate.

The color used on Gallente looks like something that got a color, then.. Chlorine! It's just .. pale.. kind of. But.. Maybe it has to be this way to not getting ruined in certain systems (background color). You can get away with this color on small ships. But, my Thanatos!!.. hehe, can't wait to see a Titan in those colors. The T2 base colors are ok tho..

The Dominix is hideous. The new color scheme just makes it worse. The model and the textures have more detail, and the self shading and lighting effects are great, especially on the other models. But the Dominix is just a horrible design, with no character or asthetics what so ever. Adding more detail to a pile of crap still doesn't change the fact that it's a pile of crap. Clearly time and effort was devoted to remodeling a large number of ships in the game. The Minmatar shuttle looks amazing.
