Well the problem is that CCP has deviated from the main gallente colour, green. start a new char and look at the different images for the different races, they are each dominated by a colour:
Amarr: Gold (ships are also gold)
Caldari: Silvery-Blue (ships are Silvery-Blue)
Minmatar: Reddish-Brown (ships are Reddish-Brown)
Gallente: Green (ships are baby blue)
Which is the odd one out

The lighting isn't the problem really, the colour scheme is the main letdown. I think along with myself that many gallente pilots were hoping for a black and green colour scheme rather than this weird cyan and silver one which dosen't really suit gallente that much. Also having every single goddam ship look the exact same as each other is a bit of a let down too. It seems gallente got double teamed by the ugly and the generic stick
