Edited by: Khan Soriano on 29/11/2007 22:29:44 Same problem here.
Radeon Mobility X600, can't get a log because when it crashes the only way out is hard reset and doesn't generate any dumps.
I'm outside station in FD-MJL, fullscreen mode and newest (2006) drivers from HP site. When problem occurs, whole screen freezes (even the mouse) for 1-2 sec and then I get a black screen on my lap and no combination gets me out of this.
I'm using this shortcut thingy '/end /LUA:OFF /server:87.237.38.50' but since everybody does the same so I'm ruling this out as the cause of all this.
To make matters worse I can't post a bugreport since they're down (service unavailable or something like that when logging in).
[Edit] After changing to Windowed mode on the character screen after I click on my sexeh portrait I see the loading bar but then it changes label to 'Failed' and without a surprise I can't get in. ----- Arbitrator - Life & Death

Doubt it is just overheating TBH, my rig has an actively cooled 8800GTS.

Quote: [Edit2] After writing all of the above I tried once more, this time successfully. I loged on, after comming out of warp near the station I crashed again. This time however rather than base on some logs I tried to listen what actually goes on in my laptop and I have some theory. During opening the game and logging in the CPU is more strained than the graphics card, thus my normal fan speed/noise. But after I get into the game GPU gets a serious load on its shoulders and I don't hear the GPU fan blowing any faster until after the crashRolling Eyes The strain gets even worse when I arrive at the station in FD (lotsa ships there) and probably this causes my (and possibly other cards as well) to crash.
But if that was the case, then why did putting EVE into window mode stop the problem of crashing for me? It seems to show that it's the game causing the crash, not the laptop being loaded with too much (if it can handle oblivion, it should handle EVE...right?).

I'm still playing EVE Trinity in Window mode and I'm still not sure why Trinity works only in window mode on my Dell Laptop. Would be nice to finally go back to full screen mode so I can appreciate the fullness of this new update.
CCP please look into this. Its still happening to people in my Scope Corp too.

It's still crashing if I am in full screen mode.
The reasons are already stated in this thread and I still cannot produce a bug report via crash document or whatever its called.
Please fix it

I just checked the Dell homepage for your Notebook (E1505 with a Geforce Go 7300), and the most recent driver version I could find was 84.69, which is ancient by any standard.
Unless you get some more current driver to run on your notebook, I'm afraid you're out of luck.
That other games happen to run fine on your configuration isn't really an argument, btw.
Ciao, Aronis!
