I've been experimenting with the new client trying to determine the optimal looks/performance level, and have come across a weird crash.
Turning on HDR With bloom over any level than "none" while shadowing is at anything at or below "normal" causes the game client to get really screwy. The options will not be applied correctly (it will just permanently highlight the apply button, and you can't exit the options screen). Closing the game (via "reset your game!" prompt or otherwise) has no effect (you must use right-click close or control pannel).
Rebooting the game causes the client to never be displayed. It sits on the taskbar and never can be displayed.
Even with HDR Bloom Maxed, Shadows Maxed, I don't see any ingame difference. This might just be because I'm blind, but I'd expect something, and I'm not seeing any changes. It could be an entire HDR bug. I'll get a proper bug report going once I'm more awake and Isolate it a bit better. In the interim, I wanted to see if anybody else has hit this.
System:
Nvidia Gigabyte 7600GT (latest drivers (nov 8))
MSI K9N Premium Mobo (nforce 570 chipset)
AMD Athlon X2 64 4200 CPU
3GB DDR-667 RAM
Windows XP SP2
Logserver spams something about "no D3D device available" whenever this error occurs. Only way to fix it is to delete the prefs.ini file and the associated character and account .dat files.

I'm going out on a limb here, but I'm guessing they are going to ask you to file a bug report and include the log files and DXDiag information, etc. It's going to be a big deal if there are problems with 7600-series cards or with nVidia's latest drivers.

Double check that you aren't forcing AA in the nVida control panel. AA + HDR is a no go on the 7 series iirc...

The problem occurred with an older version of Nvidia's drivers as well, I updated specifically to test this problem.
It could be a 7600GT problem, or perhaps something even more specific than that (looking at the similarity of specs). I'll post a bugreport on it when I'm awake if the latest patch didn't resolve anything.
