So, is there a reprocessing nerf this Dec 5th? or has that happened already? Do I need to sell/reprocess all my loot before then?

Under the patchnotes for Trinity it states "The volume of a selection of tech 1 player manufactured modules has been increased by varying factors to take into account the materials used to manufacture them." I guess that's their attempt at a reprocessing nerf. Seems to me more like a nerf to mission runners/ratters.

What it boils down to isn't a reprocessing nerf. What it really is, is a compression "nerf". It just means that modules that took 100m3 worth of minerals won't become a 5m3 module anymore, it'll more likely be a 50, 75, or 100m3 module (not sure on exact details, haven't spent that much time on SiSi to check). ---

Going to be a pain looting in missions, even with a dedicated loot/salvager.

90% of the value of the loot is in the large modules off of the battleships. They melt down into a ton a minerals. I can only assume these will be the ones that get hit the most in so far as mission runners are concerned.

Edited by: Tek''a Rain on 29/11/2007 04:05:19 the lost loot value May be made up in even the crappiest named versions, as last I heard they are not getting the upsizing treatment.
anything that can be player made, however, is getting inflated.
anyone confirm that named battleship mods melt into the same size pile as t1?
edit: so Now may be the time to double-up on transportation of compression mods that are getting nerfed, along with shutting down/ending their production lines.
Ideally the last units of whatever you use to compress your mineral of choice will arrive in your destination station just before that Dec 5th downtime, the redundant prints sold off to someone who forgot to read patchnotes.

Edited by: Falka Lakadaka on 29/11/2007 11:36:09 Maybe this is part of the reason why the new "mission running" battleships have such large cargo bays.
It would be interesting to see what happens if you have a cargohold full of goods that suddenly expand during downtime. Does some get jettisoned or dropped into your hanger? Does it expand as it comes out of your cargohold? Does your ship explode? (unlikely but it would be funny to see).
Cheers Falka

Many named mods reprocess into less minerals than their t1 equvalents. Not sure about the battleship mods specifically though.

What usually happens is that everything stays in your cargo hold, and you get an "overfull" hold that stops you warping, jumping or (un)docking.
If you're in-space, you'll just have to jettison stuff until you're back within your cargo limit, BM the can, then go fetch a hauler and grab the rest before the can pops or someone steals it.
If it's a potential problem for you, probably safer to just be docked over the patch, then you have a nice safe personal hangar to empty the excess into. ------- There is no magic Wand of Fixing, and it is not powered by forum whines. |
