Many things over the years in all aspects of life have been changed when the previous version of it was not necessarily "broken"
Something doesn't have to be broken to be improved upon and just because something new has some initial problems is not a reason not to do it. |

Pretty pessimistic if you ask me.
Me, I don't care either way, forums are forums, as long as they let me do what I want to do (read and write stuff, mainly) I'll be fine.
Only thing that kinda irks me is that the character portraits seem larger. Not sure if seeing my fellow co-posters in greater detail is a good thing... :P |

I quite like the new forums. They could tighten up the spaces a bit for better scaling on smaller screems, and they need to get images and color tags working again, but this is a great starting point.
Haven't been able to compliment CCP much lately, but this is a move int he right direction. Can't wait for private alliance and corp forums and the ability to set skill queues without logging in.  |

In case the compact view button isnt enough, here is a link to a CSS style for the Firefox addon Stylish that another user wrote when the new forums came online the first time.

The compact view does nothing for the vast amounts of wasted horizontal screen space. And the stylish view makes it look even worse than it does now.
The forum actually looks it was designed solely for the ipad and it actually works there. The fixed width is makes it look like crap on any screen with higher resolution though.
