Yeah, we're so grateful for NAFTA. Nothing like having our laws dictated by foreign corporations.

Seriously though, not many people in the US want Canada to join. Why ? Because they exploit their wide open spaces for profit. They have turned Alberta into a wasteland from the oil sands .All these Hybrid cars are powered by Nickle dug from Canadian soil, the rain is so thick with acid its killed off millions of acres of forest....
You are truly stupid.

Edited by: Kirjava on 29/11/2007 11:13:42 Canada is not the USA so dosen't have the same business practices, Canada is in the far North and as far as I know areas of it are wasteland. Where they club baby seals that may be one of the only way's to make a living or it could be a culling to let the fish stocks replenish. I have watched a few documentaries over the years, come of them are killed by the native Inuit population because that is a needed natural resource.

No, we club them because they are cute. That's pretty much the only reason. We're so jealous of the Land of the Free that we can only get pleasure out of killing things that are more fuzzy and harmless than ourselves.

Erm, did you see me saying save the baby seals there? I was more concerned with the economic impacts there than on cuteness of a marine mammal, how the hell does that make me a hippy, or have they changed their priorities without me noticing

Ron Paul FTW. Diminishing the size of our enormous government and getting us out of everyone elses business would be a dream come true. Finally seeing a fair tax system without the IRS involved.. heaven. Getting the government out of the health care industry and letting the free market actually work.. beautiful. Getting the government out of our personal lives and bedrooms... what more could you want?
The guys understands our constitution. If you do not like the ideals of our constitution.. then you probably wont like Ron Paul..

Edited by: Rialtor on 29/11/2007 18:35:07 I'm also a Ron Paul supporter. But some people need to realize that Ron Paul realizes he cannot do everything he says. Often he's speaking from a philosophical point of view, but he does have real plans of modifying the current system to make it work better. So Ron Paul isn't a dreamer, he realizes things take time to change. He's not a whack job, on the contrary he's a realist. He's the only one with any sort of meaningful plan to reduce spending.
While he would like to get rid of entitlements, he realizes that it's impossible. Some of you might object to his ideology, but as a Constitutionalist he realizes what is within his power and what is not.
The things Ron Paul can do that he can do almost immediately is to give the recall order to troops stationed around the world. This would save the US billions, if not trillions of dollars.
I feel we need a man like Ron Paul in the Executive Branch. The Executive Branch is way way out of control currently. It needs major reform, and a we need a president with conviction to be fiscally conservative and responsible.
Also our Foriegn Policy needs to be reigned in, the scope of the CIA needs to be revamped. It's one thing to have intelligence on a country, it's another thing to assassinate, overthrow, empower dictators. The CIA needs to be refocused.

Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world... Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has. |
