Yah, you¦re probably right - but so would I. But then again - you never said all women would say something like that. So meh.

Frankly, you women should be P|SSED.. because its women like that who just complete the stereotype and make meatheads like me look right even more frequently.
mmh...****ed is maybe the wrong word for what I think but I get your drift and am inclined to agree. However, I¦m in the process of derailing a thread that I should probably have stayed out of in the first place. So...*does the disappearing trick*
Awww, come back I was liking where that was going too :).

Also regarding the OP.
I wonder where you got the idea of "Intel is overpriced".
Intel currently delivers more bang for the buck (due to overclockability) than AMD. So that statement is a flat out lie. Just fyi.

I've been using it to build my first computer (will finish today, with a bit of luck). It has a fair bit of detail and since it's a 2007 printing, it's not hopelessly out of date. I've found it really useful.
It gives a fairly understandable explanation of the technicalities, without relying too heavily on them. It even has a couple of step-by-step guides, detailing how to put everything together.

But is overclocking safe? Long ago - it was something I would never touch because things could get broken rather easily. |

You know, going outside your house is unsafe, if you have issues.
I just OC'ed a Core2Duo recently. It was an E6750, and it went from 2.66 Ghz to 3.6 Ghz with stock cooling, stably.
Running temperature under full load on both cores is 65C, which is well within Intel's thermal spec. Honestly, if you have any idea about physics and the relation of heat/power consumption, then you will understand what and how.
Lastly, OCing is perfectly safe, if you know what you are doing, just as it is safe to go over the street without being ran over, if you know to look both ways.
Edit: The first CPU I OC'ed was a P2 350mhz to 466mhz, it was a Slot 1 CPU, about 9-10 years ago. I have also never fried a single CPU OC-ing it. My current AMD 3000+ is running for 2 years at 30% higher clockspeed (1.8ghz at 2.54ghz) on stock cooling.
Draw your own conclusions.

Lastly If what I have postted you feel is a crappy computer then you post me a good computer I can build for the same price or cheaper
Everything I have looked at for Intel either cause of mebeing blind or being computer dumb I just didnt like what I saw. Maybe I was looking at the wrong boards or cpu's but honestly I wasn't trying to debate here I am looking for kind words and input. So please if you would be so kind point in the direction ( Links to motherboards, cpu ect ect) so I can look at them. This.
Core 2 Duo E6750, P35 Mobo like the Gigabyte GA-P35, 8800 GT graphics card, 2gb 800mhz ram, 2x 400gb drives (Seagate/Samsung) in RAID0, Decent 500W PSU.
As for links, don't be lazy as hell and google everything I just wrote. You're also awfully thick, you came and asked for advice, you were told that AMD is a bad idea right now and that performance/$$$ wise Intel is better. You still keep going on and on and on about AMD. Why did you ask advice in the first place again?
This should cost you around 550-600 pounds if you buy from decent sources.

2007 (like i said in my post). It doesn't say which month it was published. The examples given in the book suggest it's actually fairly recent - for example, it knows about SLI and crossfire. --------------------------------------------------------------------
