Edited by: Gwildee on 08/03/2004 01:22:52 Interesting Event.. It is my fault I lost 2 thorax's 1 with each account and I accept the loss .. I foolishly warped in way to close, stupid to be leader in a gang. Can other member target the leaders active target? No, EnB had a much better formation flight systems "Imo". Loosing my 5 expanded cargoÆs bugged me more then loosing my Thorax, interesting that rare loots are more valuable to us.
I'm Sad that the second wave took the 5 expanded cargoÆs that were in the can of what was left of my thorax. I checked before I flew my pod to the base. I even asked that my can be left alone as I was enroute to get the stuff. A feeding frenzy is what Obi saw while sitting in a pod. The 2nd wave wins. Be in the 2nd wave, then you to can feast on the remains of those who gave so much in the service of Eve.
Educational it was, "if I learn from the mistakes I made". Never follow a Polaris into a Event where other Polaris are driving modified npc ships. How do you spell ôAmbushö. Neither Obidiah nor did I recieved that 0.5 faction standing from the GFTL corp. What value would it be? I'd rather get my oops -0.5 wiped clean off my status. I shot a mining mate by mistake. It had been a long night. I wish there was a safety I could enable to give me a "are you sure" before shooting Player ships. Eve Events have no reward other then participation is what I've heard before, but I had hopes.
EnB has a better reward system for events, those who do participate do get something. IÆll never hope I might get a BP or a good mod again in an Eve Event, but is was fun still to participate, not worth risking anything above a frigate is my current thoughts, as you'll most likely be fodder for other Polaris to practice on. so you want a reward for just 'participating' and not actually 'winning' that would make the events a little stupid. I was in one event, and one guy got a +4 memory implant, which i think is a damn cool reward.
It sounds like the people that won.. got the stuff.. is that not right? and fair?

There IS a safety - but it applies to all acts of agression, even if you're shooting NPC rats. CCP should fix this so you have one for NPC's and one for PC's. You probably turned it off after the first time you went hunting NPC rats.

One thing to keep in mind... The Aurora Project, the events team of Polaris, are not part of the Player Support team. We really can't help with issues like that. Further, we have to stay in character, and can't talk about things like lag, or crashes. --- Lead Event Producer Hobbes The Aurora Project |

My dear Hobbes, the fact remains. Events are beset by vultures looking for easy profit. Staying in character is fine but then you should also pick out those players that are staying in character and let them continue with the event and leave the scavengers behind. Players that are actually willing to do some roleplaying should get the chance to do so. Set the standard higher, most events I have been to have turned out to be a group of people whining about how much that guy with the blue text sucks. Please separate the ones actually showing up for an event from those looking for handouts.

I got a +4 mem implant by working for the smuggler ^^ , finding his stash of drugs and then bringing it to him. Much more fun smuggling drop and avoiding other players and aurora cops than hunting down a smuggler :P
