I regret to inform the EVE community that my XO, corp mate, and good friend Scott (better known to most as his character name Deacon Hasp) has recently died. I won't get into the details of his untimely death, but I would like to take this time to briefly share with you all who he was to us.
Roughly two years ago, I met Deacon when he joined my corp Hunters Agency of Firmus Ixion. He brought to our corp what we needed badly, a one man industrial power house. He'd spend hours on the belts with his hulks mining for whatever project the corp was working on. Over time he was appointed to industrial director and became one of the finest leaders HA has ever seen. Later, when my XO Hucked had to take an extended leave of absence, I asked Deacon to take his place. He spent tireless hours working on corp and alliance logistics. With Deacon, no task was ever out of the question. Whether it was the mining field or the battle field, he always led by example by being the first one out there, throwing it all out on the line for us.
Eventually it came time for me to move on from FIX and needless to say Deacon was my successor as CEO. Unfortunately only a short time after he went missing. Only recently has his whereabouts have become known to me and our old friends. It was an honor to have known him as a friend these few short years. He will be missed by many.

You were the best person I could have hoped to have met in my time playing eve. You were my CEO, a wing mate, a corp mate and more importantly a friend. You helped introduce me to the joys of the simple gank. You inspired others around you to always give their best and you ran a tight corp. Most of all I will miss the Giant Tuna of Doom that you used for disciplining your corpies, I still have nightmares!
My thoughts go out to all that knew such a great guy both in game and rl, and that being taken in your thirties is just so deeply wrong that it hurts .

Deacon and I had some long talks and was what can only be called a stand up guy. In game he made no excuses and was always there for people.
When I told him I was leaving Hunters Agency to join BNCE where my long times friends were he was very supportive and it was after I left his corp that we became in game friends (he had just taken over as CEO when I was leaving).
I've been out of game for several months, and when I heard from a mutual friend he was AWOL I thought it was just game burn out.
Goodbye Deacon.

I never new the man personally, but I'd say the best way to honor his memory is to step up and fill his shoes, and to always remember his example.

I'd like to extend my personal condolences to 0utbreak for their loss of a pilot, and to Scott's (Deacon's) family for their loss.
It's never good to hear about the death of someone, and it hits a bit harder when you've spoken and flown with them.

All i can think of is how not fair this is! And how i remember him..
He was allways nice, nice to talk with and nice to have around.
He allways wanted the best for ppl, and my god, he stood up for what he said.

Deacon will be missed. His absence was sudden, like most i thought he was taking a break from EVE after spending countless hours mining to keep HA afloat. The HA members that went to Wreck where waiting his return so that we could lure him to wreck so that we could fly with him once again. Nobody expected his return to be one of mourning. I only knew him in game as Deacon, i know that Scott's RL friends and family lost a good man. My condolences to those who knew him best and may he rest in peace. |

Deacon was a great guy, I like many others enjoyed talking with him and hearing him call everyone a noob!
He had unreal dediction to H.A. and FIX ! Many times i would log in only to see Deacon in corp chat just working away...... To a great guy, a great corp mate and a great friend RIP Deacon Hasp

Deacon had surgery done in mid july. Disappeared out of the blue. then all of a sudden 3 weeks later he logs in and explains he had 75% (or so) of his intestines removed and when he was in the hospital he got pneumonia. Talked to us in teamspeak for awhile said he was tired and would see us in the morning and logged off... that was august 7th. never heard from him again.
Ever since i came back from Iraq and started playing Eve again Deacon was there. My kids would talk to him in TS, He loved it when my daughter would sing him songs (she is 4. My 8 year old son would get on TS and tell everyone that pimp sounds funny and he would laugh.... for a year and a half while i was in the wheelchair. everyday i would talk to him. Talk to him like he was in the same room.
Deacon was what everyone wishes for in a best friend. Great listener and the advice he would give was always from the heart. I still can't get over the fact that when i log in he won't be there. Deacon my tears have dried but they are always fresh. You were my best friend in a time when i really needed one. I just wish i can give the same you gave me to someone else. You will always be remembered. May you hunt forever in the open skies of heaven.

I am at a complete loss for words. Deacon(Scott) RIP my friend you will be deeply missed. He will always be in our hearts and minds, dont think there has been a day since he vanished that he wasnt thought of or talked about. I wsa truly looking forward to seeing him back in EVE and talking to him on TS again. He was one of those wonderful people that just bring fun to the game and life.
