Tracking Disrupters or Damps?
Or should we just avoid fitting EWAR entirely.

Imo, go with tracking disruptors and 'decent' tank in lows, just dont engage iskfarmers but only get on turret ships. * ** *** Nice hamster! - Mindstar Thanks! Phear this sig! - Cortes Your sigs are cool! I wont touch them anymore! - Cortes |

Oh, totally forgot to mention it, ecm bursts are really nice against any ship, only problem is that they take alot of energy to run.
But, worth a try imho. * ** *** Nice hamster! - Mindstar Thanks! Phear this sig! - Cortes Your sigs are cool! I wont touch them anymore! - Cortes |

Have to see how the scripts work for damps. If the lock range of an unboosted BS can't be put below 20k then the typical nano-curse will need some changes.
Even with scripts 3 TD's against a turret only ship will be fine though.

Damps will be pointless on a Curse after Trinity. 2x damps with spec 4 will take a Hyperion/Typhoon with Long Range Targeting 4 to 28km, and those are the shortest targeting range BS in the game. Nor will damps be very good at protecting your drones. A 2x damped Myrm (for example) will take 22 seconds to lock a Hammerhead II, which, when you take travel time into account, leaves you with very little time before recalling.
If you fit 3x damps you're probably sacrificing an LSE or a cap management mod, both of which are important.
I would fit TDs, they're actually not that bad if you can stay out of web range.

Tracking Disruptors work good against turret ships! You just have to evade missileboats, ships with dronebay, ships with falloff-heavy weapons, ships that are faster then you, ships with cap injector, ships with good armor tank, ships with passive shield tank, ships with web-bonus, ships with ecm and ships with damps.
I guess you could kill an Omen.

Edited by: Boran Tisk on 01/12/2007 20:57:00 With 3x Damps on my curse I can barely get a caracal below 25km lock range on SiSi. So a battleship is out of the question.
Even if your drone was webbed would 3x TDs on the target increase your drones lifespan?

well TD will still be good agains non-minmatar turret ships ... but you have to choose your safety (range disruption) or drone safety (tracking disruption) now :/

These are not much more threatening with TDs after Trinity than they are with damps today.

ships with falloff-heavy weapons
You can easily out-traverse BS ACs (and by extension, all BS turrets). With 2x TDs on it, a max-skilled Vargur with dual 425mm using non-T2 ammo has about a 7% chance to hit a non-MWDing Curse orbiting at 22km, and that's just from the tracking component, without even taking falloff into acount. This is a worst case scenario. Every other BS turret will do worse.
It's true that TDs don't make that much of a dent to cruiser AC tracking, but you should be deep enough in their falloff anyway that you're only getting hit about half the time or less. And Curse incidentally has great shield resists against Barrage

Granted, TDs help you less here than damps do today.

Choice of EW has no effect on these.

Yes, TDs help you less here than damps do now.
Quote: and ships with damps
After trinity an Arazu with spec 4, 4x damps (targeting range), and 2x t1 damp rigs will take a Curse to 25 km. Not really much of a threat.

On SISI:
Curse with Signal Suppression 4, 3 x Remote Sensor damps II, 1 x damp rig will get an un-sensor boosted Raven with long range targeting 4 (90km targeting range) down to 24km. You can engage with drones/NOS, but won't really help if you need to tackle as well.
Add 1 T2 Sensor Booster to the Raven and it's targeting range climbs to 39km which is 2 KM better than Nos/Neut range with Recon 5.
Doesn't look too good, and a complete waste of time on a Pilgrim now.

I'm thinking of putting a shield tank in the mids... I've done it before and it works. Just gotta avoid ships with medium pulse like the plague.

Forget EW - shield tank is the way ahead for the Curse. For mids try:
10mn MWD, 2 x LSEs, 2 Medium Shield Boosters, Warp Disruptor.
If you're not tackling a TD is certainly an option instead of the Warp Disruptor.
The Curse is still a very viable ship shield tanked, and possibly better in small gangs than the sensor damp nano-curse.

How is a setup like this viable without a cap booster? considering your highs probably contain at least a few neuts.

2x OD II Co-Processor II Capacitor Power Relay II
MWD II Domination Warp Disruptor Balmer Series Targeting Inhibitor Large Shield Extender II Large Capacitor Battery II Cap Recharger II
2x Med Neut 1x Med NOS 1x Small Neut Recon Probe Launcher
2x Polycarbs
With the new trinity neutralizer stats, it's cap stable running all the neuts with MWD off or MWD + med neut + small neut. Fast enough to speed tank medium sized missiles and up. Precision cruise will still hit for about 1/3rd of their normal damage, so you probably won't beat a Raven that has these available. Destroys most ships though, and anything that can catch up to it won't have cap for very long.

It uses nosferatu actually.
