My short cut to my Test server build is "C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE\eve.exe" /end /LUA:OFF /server:87.237.38.50
I am running 2 other clients connecting to trinity under different locations, both with the "/end" switch activated
On the Trinity build, I get to the log in screen, enter name and pw, get "connecting" and it downloads the bulk data and then hangs at the splash screen. From the moment the data is downloaded, I get 0 (zero) hard drive activation, almost acting like I am being blocked. I have tried disabling my firewall, have done 4 completely fresh and clean downloads of the client... still no joy.
can someone please give me some ideas? Thank you. -------------------------------------- Heavy Lag Spike II belonging to EvE Cluster Node #0815 hits your Connection, wrecking your latency to 998ms

i have the same problem
OS: WinXP Pro SP2
Hardware is: AMD Athlon XP 1800+ GeForce4 Ti 4800 Se (AGP) Mother Board ASUS with Nforce2 (dont know exact model)
Yes is a bit old hardware, but has run the eve client well so far, and im planning to keep it for at least a few more months and play eve in classic version.
Is there any issues with the above?
Should i run the logserver to see what happens?

/sarcasm I am so glad the Devs see the need to respond to this situation, as the Trinity upgrade is slated for Dec 5 and I have such great confidence that I will be able to play after patching /sarcasm off
Come on guys... I am not the only one with this issue. I have tried rolling back my video drivers... no joy.
I was able to log into Sisi with the original Trinity patch, however something common in the following patches broke Trinity for me. I have filed a bug report with a Log server file attached and any suggestions on how to resolve this would be appreciated.
Thank you,

Well, i'v not heard about anyone having this problem, what you can do is clear your cache totally, and hope that resolves it. The only other thing you can do besides that is wait and hope your bug report gets handled soon. (If you haven't done so already, include a dxdiag, it will be a vital thing for that bug report since no-one else actually has the problem, it would be full of whines here otherwise... _______

Did you delete your settings in your sisi install folder? I know you said you did reinstall but just to be sure that you made sure those folders were gone entirely. ------ Shakor Clan Information Portal |

I have completely deleted the directory each time I have made the install. Am almost ready to make a clean partition on my hard drive and install to there. Am not sure what else to do tbh.

Have you guys filed bug reports with logs and dxdiag yet?
Simply put we can do our best to fix these issues, but if we cannot reproduce them here then we cannot fix them without logs from your end. ____________________________ I break things.

Also be aware that if you are running Vista, EVE will not run if you use the /LUA:OFF switch. ____________________________ I break things.

Just an idea. Have you updated your OS and graphic driver?
I couldn't enter the game till I did that. Got stuck at "Entering game as Jaketh Ivanes" at 75%. I know it's not excatly the same situation, but its good to get that out of the way

Yeah I had trouble with the previous patch ... it was fine till I installed the latest patch then it kept reporting "Incompatible (Release)" I found a post that mentioned using the "/end /LUA:OFF /server:87.237.38.50" in the shortcut and that worked ....Running on XP Pro and not Vista.... till this latest patch and once again with those switches and without the client won't connect and reports "Incompatible (Release)" I've tried clearing/resetting the cache tho no luck so far.
Is this some sort of random server situation ? I think the new client should have an option to select the server the same as the current TQ release ... that connects to the correct server rather than us having to research the IP address each time and hope we got lucky!

Edited by: Bon Hedus on 04/12/2007 11:39:52 Thanks for the suggestions, however I have tried changing my graphics drivers after things stopped working. That didn't help. I am running Windows XP Pro SP2. I was initially able to connect to Trinity, and then late last week there was a patch that broke it for me, and from there I cannot get past the splash screen. I have the proper switches and server location set on my short cut.
I can log in just fine, the client downloads the bulk data and other needed "stuff" and then stops at the splash screen. I cannot see my character or do anything from there.
I have now completely erased Eve from my system 11 times, clearing the cache in "documents and settings" and removing anything that is remotely associated with Eve, and then doing a reinstall. The Client works for Revelations, but as soon as I apply the Trinity patch, I cannot get past the splash screen.
I have rolled back my graphics drivers (using an ATI Radeon 9700pro) and I am trying to run Classic Eve on trinity because my card does not support SM3. I have NOT tried to run the new eye candy patches. I don't know what else to do. My fear is that when patch day rolls around, I will be screwed. -------------------------------------- Heavy Lag Spike II belonging to EvE Cluster Node #0815 hits your Connection, wrecking your latency to 998ms |

no joy with the new patch either. I guess I'll enjoy revelations until the upgrade/patch tonight, and then let my accounts lapse if this breaks them

Still not able to get past the splash screen... I have updated Direct X, disabled my sound, updated video drivers, disabled firewall, disabled antivirus.... don't know what else to do.
Another thing I noticed, when I enable the introduction video, it will not play either. Just a complete hang at the splash screen. -------------------------------------- Heavy Lag Spike II belonging to EvE Cluster Node #0815 hits your Connection, wrecking your latency to 998ms |
