I had this problem when I patched Trinity a few days ago to the new graphics. Today I reinstalled again on my Inspiron 9400 and I still get this: white silhouettes in space
On my work PC with a different GFX card everything is fine.
My Inspiron 9400 runs a Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 with the latest DELL supported driver 78.59.
I still sent a bug report.
Anyone experiencing the same problem?

Try Nforce 163.75 instead.. "should" work with your 'DELL' fine
I had also white stuff outside station and allways bothered to update my nvidia drivers, as all newer versions crahsed my windows.. but those there above (at least the 161.75) worked for me and solved the prob with eve.
There's also another topic with a direct link to the german 161.75 nforce drivers.. maybe you want to try them instead.. however, you need to update those drivers mate!

Will not work. I had that many times in the past. The installer says that the hardware is incompatible to that driver. The official nvidia site tells me to contact DELL. DELL support just offers my actual driver. +++ JOIN PAP +++ |

Best you can do at this point is hope that DELL upgrades their drivers.
Since DELL uses proprietary hardware, they can force you to use proprietary drivers as well, though that tends to mean that they're a bit behind the curve so to speak when it comes to updates and compatibility with new things.
We have been working with Nvidia to ensure that their new drivers will be compatible with EVE after the expansion is out. Dell is just a bit behind. Though all ATI cards are a bit behind anyway, so you're not alone. ____________________________ I break things.

Will this mean AA + HDR compatibility on the cards that support it? _______

I had the exact same thing with my 7800 GT...
I began filling a (messy as hell, I closed it myself in shame) bugreport, and, after updating my motherboard and display drivers finally finding a stable combination (beware fo new geforce drivers if you have outdated nforce drivers) it worked fine, having crash free and fine graphics (and greatly improved performance).
So, my old drivers were 81.98 forceware... shipped with my graphic card...
All you can hope is that dell updates drivers, because it IS a driver issue for sure! -- Pocket drone carriers (tm) enthousiast !

DELL is a bit over 2 years behind. :-((( And it doesn't seem that a new driver is upcoming for the +older˝ Laptops.
All official nvidia driver theoretically matching for the Inspiron 9400 can't be installed. I tried a modified driver which is messing up the graphics completely.
Seems that Santa Clause has removed me from his list. Probably I made some bad illegal kills :-P

Does that one work?
Made my Go 7300 work a lot better. Like you, Nvidia do not support there own card and my laptop maker is as bad as Dell for being useless.

Try this site also once it is back up. They are getting new servers. Make sure you read the instructions carefully. They use the current NVIDA drivers and make instruction sets for most all brands of laptops. I used it for my Gateway NX860 with the 7900GS GO in it, fixed everything.

Its the same with laptops with ATI chips as well, the ATI drivers will not install. You have to get third party modified drivers to stay up with the times, such as from omegadrivers.net for ati.
This is because the laptop maker can tweak alot of stuff in the hardware, which makes having a single driver work with all laptops problematic...as some of you that have tried the third party drivers and had problems know all too well.
