Yes Eve is a sandbox, but everyone has a goal.
For the last 3 weeks I have hardly logged into eve for more than 10 minutes total.
Iam bored, lacking motivation.
My original end game was to get into a Titan (which I could at last afford), but they have been nerfed to hell, that seems hollow.
So what is you end game? What motivates you to carry on with eve?

I plan on getting a Titan, then hiring the majority of the games mercenaries to form a single faction lead them into battle. I will then make a dice with the then major powers and roll it, deciding which will be which ball.
On national lottery a ball will be drawn, I will demand T2 BPO from that alliance and if they dont give the goods, I annihalate them, then go on until I either run out of ISK or people to kill.
Essentialy I want to own most of the T2 BPO ingame.
Rate my charecters please - 2M isk for a good review for the first 3 people!! |

My goal is to earn money, which is the only goal of eve. Once i have earned enough i will retire to my pensioneers home and only comment on the forums once in a while. Looks like this isnt too far off.

I do not really have an end game, to be honest. I'm just happy to keep playing at whatever task comes up. Perhaps the lack of a goal is keeping me, like Miz Cenuij, out of the game. Can he go back to his smartbomb antics in Jita? That was entertaining. As it is, though, I have not played as much as of late as I once did. Once upon a time, I had a goal to make the southern region of Feythabolis habitable, developed, and safe with my friends in CLS-F, but times change and so must our goals... perhaps it is time that I found a new one?
Oh, and a bar sounds good, Avon. Please do not put it in Jita...

Hey man me too ... but because im poor and cant go into empire anymore i would play if i had iskies :P
And for the question, get rich own a corp of good pvp'ers who stick together and enjoy pvping small scale.

My current goal is to find a goal. I spend most my time in EVE sitting in a station, occasionally trading a bit to build up ISK in case I ever have a goal again.

Im almost ADHD like, so i dont have any "milestone" i want to get to. I just set small objectives that can be reached in 1-2 months (new ship, maxing out skill) and then move out. It also keeps me going all the time instead of becoming "whiney veteran" (in year 1947 EVE was MUCH better than it is now).

Mine was to buy a Nyx and use it to gank ebil piwates. Was almost there too, pretty much done maxing out my Carrier skills, was a few weeks from having the ISK to buy the ship, most of the fit in my hanger already...
... then I realized that I wasn't actually having any fun any more, PVP basicly consisted of me throwing another BS into a 5 man BS gang because I was bored and I just spent my time sitting in stations talking in various chats. Haven't logged on in a few weeks now, and even then I only log on for skill changes.

EVE only has an endgame if you fly solo.
Fly for a cause, fly for more than just your own wallet and epeen and EVE never ends.

If you go for an end-game or overall goal, you are bound to fail eventually. Either you get what you want, your wants change and you lose course, or what you want doesn't turn out to be what you want 
I play for FUN. Hence my end game is fun. When I no longer have fun I will walk away and do something else but since my paths are infinite, I don't see that happening anytime soon...

I loved the fanfest. I think Shin Ra said it best. We all suffer from the "bitter vet" syndrome. I still find fun in eve whenever I have time to log in, and most of the fun comes from flying with extremely capable pilots in my corp.
