Fairly standard looking Brutor(?) the shades look pretty horrible, but guess that's a matter of taste. I do like the sculpting and otherwise rugged look though, he looks like a man you could trust as far as you could throw him. 6/10 Possibly 8/10 without the shades or with a more dynamic pose. |

Serena: I like how she's sculpted, and the hairstyle has been played with nicely. Shading is nice too. Have to wonder how she'd look like with another hairstyle though? Then again I know there necessarily aren't all that many useable ones - there's like 30 hairstyles and I generally can stand about five of them. Well, 9/10.

You have done a good job making your eyes look good as a Vherokoir, but it is still possible to see the squinth bug on the large image, but only if you look closely at it. It's a shame to change the good pose because of that.
The makeup is good, but I dont like the color of the hair. It doesn't match the rest of the style.
8/10
Edit: try experimenting with your background aswell. And maybe also zoom abit. You character looks small.
Ooh, nice critique, thanks! I've been meaning to take a good look in the mirror, so to speak, now that I have a new computer but I've been having endless trouble with the Gfx card (GTX 560 Ti), second time in two weeks it's been sent back as faulty...
I agree the background could perhaps be a bit more engaging / less dull. Vherokior eyes vex me to no end, glad they don't look too awful. I do have the free resculpt unused I believe, might try and look if I can do anything about them. Altough last I checked the new skintones looked amazingly unnatural (Chalk? yellow? dark chocolate? wtf!), but let's see. I'm kind of attached to Tein's looks by now, squinty eyes and all, so could be I won't do anything to the sculpt.. But again, thanks for the input, will keep it in mind.
And now you're free to ignore me, next poster :) |

Funny that you didn't notice it before: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/5102238/EVE/Miz6.jpgWhat about the earrings, dont like them either? Now back to you my dear. This is probably the best one of you. The post is fantastic and the lighting just improves it. The shirt matchs well with the overall look. You have the same struggle with the eyes as I do but I like how you made them look good. 9/10
Realized my post was perhaps too offensive sounding, therefore the edit. You still are pretty, just the current avatar rubs me the wrong way somehow. And odd I didn't notice that piercing, I've checked these pictures in 1024 resolution when it became possible. o_O Earrings... The doorknocker types I don't really like, small ones are okay.
And thank you for your kind words - glad to find out I didn't spend those three hours completely for nothing. (Avatars are serious business.) |

I'd say about 8-+/10. 9/10 if the lighting and pose was more to my tastes, but I know those are really hard to do well ( I frequently fail at it myself ) , and then again, it is not your job to please my aesthetic values. A very youthful looking, well proportioned character, I like it. |

Not sure about the pose, but I like the hair, the tattoo and the piercings. Facial features (jaw, nose, brows) look imposing enough that he doesn't look like a boy. Altogether I'd give it 9/10. Not the best Gallente male avatar I've seen but certainly not far off. Would probably be a tenner if you had a bit more adventurous background and maybe a leather jacket... Do Gallente get good looking jackets? I don't know. |

What's wrong with my eyes? I'm Vherokior, that's what ;__; It is actually really damn difficult to get them to look even half natural without zooming in so hard that you can see skin pores. I would suggest opening the character profile and looking at the bigger picture, that's what I always do. /halfjokingrant |

Mizhir wrote:I know what troubles you have to deal with, but I don't like your new avatar at all. To be honest the pose and facial expression makes everything worse. It looks like there is a huge space between your eyes and eyebrows.
You can do it better. I know that. Some of your previous ones has been much better.
5/10
And here I thought I finally hit the jackpot after hours of tinkering.
If I've done better previously, I really don't know how. I've always kept the brows up to give the eyes max visibility, I think, I mean you wouldn't think it possible but you can make Vherokior eyes even more squinty by lowering the brows. I have never sculpted the character outside of the first time it was created, so that can't be the cause. Really the only choices I can think of is that on the better ones I've zoomed as close as the CC allows, I've used the "soulless eyes" (the really small pupil one) and lighting that brings out the eyes (practically one or two lighting options do it best.)
As always though, thanks for your honest opinion and pointers, I value yours more than most others.
Anyway, sorry for off-topic(?) and next poster, remember to skip me & focus on Uriel. |

I like your hair, but I don't like how you look so sad. Why are you sad? If intentional, well done. If not, well.. not done? The pose could be a bit more dynamic, but again I'm not sure if the slumped shoulders are intentional or not. So for now I'll assume they are. Personally I think the background matching the color of your clothes would be a poor artistic choice, but again I assume it's there to add to the melancholic theme of the entire portrait.
If you were going for a pouty schoolgirl look, 9/10. If not, 6/10. |

Have to say I find the milk-stache a bit unappealing, but hey, what can you do? I'm also not a big fan of visible implants, but that's just my preference... And it does appear you have a reason to use one looking at the scars, but I much prefer the less obvious cybernetic eyes if people use cybernetic additions on their avatars. Hmm. Overall I'd say you've done good, I like the composition and you don't look too bad for a Caldari male. :D Most importantly the avatar works well both in small and large sizes, so I'd give you a solid 9/10. Would've been a 10 but had to give some minus according to personal taste. :P
Had to throw a shoutout to Nyl as well, that avatar is very eye catching in a sea of fairly basic avatars. Really my only complaint would be the background, but I know the choices are rather limited. Still, I'd had preferrred something more... Lively? No.. Well, something a bit less subdued, but not something flamboyant as it would steal your characters thunder. If you catch my drift. But again I know the options are rather limited. In any case, a 10/10, and I don't drop this rating too often. |

Androgynous as hell out of 10.
Can't even tell if that is a male or female character. The jawline says male, but you have kind of feminine features around the eyes as well. Well, aside from that I have to say I'm not a fan of this particular white hair, the tattoo and and blank eyes work well but the hair or hairpiece is a bit too much. Maybe gray or dark brown would work better? Or maybe it would look better with different shadows? Can't really say for sure. Background is fitting, lighting could be better or maybe not, hard to say.

You don't look like the typical pretty boy Caldari, which is always a plus. All in all I really can't find anything wrong with your character, the lighting is good, altough the only point of nagging is that I'm not sure about the background. I think a steel/grey/industrial coloured background woudl fit your character the best as it is now, but that's just my opinion. He looks like a no-nonsense type of guy you could respect and give a wide berth if he looks annoyed. 9.5/10 from me. |

Fal Shepard: A rather typical "minmatar rebel" portrait, but definetly one of the better ones in this category. Extra points for using a hairstyle I never got to work right on my character and making it work for you. Lighting is a bit gloomy but then again fits the overall mood of the portrait well. 9/10.
Something to consider when rating Tein: I made this particularly with the smaller in-game frames in mind, which is what most people will ever look at. I know there are clipping issues with the bigger picture.
EDit: Curses!
Lea-Marie: I'm not a gentleman so I don't prefer blondes, but all in all the character looks pretty good. Portrait IMO could be better, the pose is kind of strange. But I know it is hard to get the right kind of lighting without ******** poses, so I'll give you that. However I would suggest perhaps to avoid full-torso portraits in such cases. The lighting feels somewhat out of place as well. Overall, 6/10. |
