So I realize that I'm a noob at this game, but the point of the pop-up warnings is to protect noobs from making stupid, catastrophic mistakes out of sheer ignorance. With that being said, there really needs to be a pop-up message that lets you know that changing your clone to a different station resets your clone grade to alpha. The current UI doesn't really make this clear, and I didn't even realize it until I looked at my full character sheet several days later and saw that my clone grade was reset to alpha (which would have resulted in me losing 2/3rds of my SP if I died). Please, CCP, consider doing this in a future patch to prevent some poor noob from getting blindsided by this.

umm, I'm pretty sure you keep your clone at whatever level it is upgraded to when you switch stations..
(and btw, you will only lose a % off your biggest skill if you die with a crappy clone, so its not like you will end up with 100k SP or something)

Sounds like a bug... I have never seen this before. You sure that your PAID UP clone was reset when you changed location?
Because it should not, it should charge you 5k ISK or something and thats it.

Moving your clone does not change its level. Something happened.

I must have run into some kind of weird bug then, because I payed the 5K ISK to switch my clone, and then when I checked after logging in today my character's clone was reset to alpha. Strange.

Quite possibly. Why don't you relog. And if it is not fixed by that, wait till DT. And if it is not fixed after DT, file a petition.

The shocking badness of SciFi channel's Tin Man could have used a warning too, but we can't have everything. And no changing a station does not reset your clone grade.

are you sure you didn't got podded somewhere after paying for a new clone and before moving it around?
You know, when you arrive back at your pc, see the station environment and think to yourself, "mmmm.... didn't know the autopilot also automatically docks me into a station. Cool....."

it woul;d be nice to have a flashing icon saying UPGRADE YOUR CLONE OR YOULL LOSE SKILLPOINTS shouting at you

it doesn't even dock you when you tell it to half the time. :(
i've lost loads of ships selecting the warp-to-and-dock option, going afk, and returning to find that whilst i'm now inside the station, my ship is still outside in little pieces.

Loads? I would expect anyone with any kind of intelligence to lose ONE at most.
