I think the end to get it may mean just less damage and tank for snipers, to keep your damage mods and tank mods you will be stuck with a trade off of less range & lock time
1600mm plates, damage mods and damage controls that appear on current sniper fits will have to be replaced with tracking enhancers and sensor upgrades. ---------------------- Rank: Tech 1 and a 1/2 cannon fodder

I would think you'd see a resurgence of destroyers, now that sniping battleships can't insta lock and insta pop small ships.

Thinking of low sec, the destroyer is still going to suck, and just a little bit harder now. Granted, Minnie ships do get hit pretty hard with this change in the sniping department, all in all, I can kind of agree/see where this is coming from. While I'm not a fan of something being changed because people were too lazy to use the counter designed for a module... I'm stuck dealing with it like everyone else. You wont hit the same stats as you did before, but you should still be able to pop pretty much everything and keep your fast lock times. Now, you just have to sacrifice even more of your tank, and get a little more creative. ARM scripts will give you a choice of, do I want more range or faster lock times? You can do both, but they wont be as high as before. Same with the optimal/tracking speed. As always, there will be a good mix of pointless crying and solid feedback on the changes, until everyone adapts in a month or two and everything pre trinity turns into "back in the day when..." just like nano ravens, moon bouncing, and dual mwd set ups.

When I first started I went to a pvp class that was trying to explain the basic's of EvE PvP combat. After going thru alot of the different stuff along with short a tracking class we headed out to 0.0. Had alot of good fights and everything really started to make sense in this game.
We got to a certain system and took short break while scouts looked for targets, end up a few targets where heading down the pipe so we got up close to a stargate. While waiting for them to activate the gate we made sure to orbit the gate in FRIGS at max. A tempest warps in 130kms off gate and proceeds to instant lock 2 gun salute pop three frigs. Orders are to warp out. I'm tick because this doesn't add up to me. With my rifter in max Nav skills speed fit with a ABII(not MWD) I stayed to see why this BS could lock and track so well .
In short I was almost instant pop by it and got out. Looking back I realized how dumb this was of me but really taught me a huge eve lesson. Simply put alot of in game pvp mechanics can be changed by putting the extreme types of modules on ships. Now everyone knows the extremes are common fits. This is a great change.
One other thing is Nano ships and sniping BS are completely different. Warping to max range with guns blinking is different from over-extending with pilot skills.

I heard they can kill those frigates/cruisers that you now can't hit in your sniper.

Surprised that nobody noticed with signal suppression 4 and turret destabilization the Damps (43-44%) and TD's (47% iirc) still give enough of an edge to be useful on anything and just a little better on the ewar ships.

Sabre is now 25% slower and doesn't have the optimal/tracking bonus of a T1 destroyer.
