Random Trek Trivia nerd knowledge GO!!!!
The Enterprise:
Advantages: fitted with the equivalent of five tech 2 mega beam lasers, except that its locking and optimal range are both in the order of 30,000Km. Multiple torpedo launchers, each torpedo with an effectively unlimited range owing to the ability to travel at warp speed, explosive payload probably on par with an EVE torpedo. Considerably faster at warp than all EVE ships. Transporters. Crew able to bullsh** their way out of pretty much any situation provided they aren't wearing red.
Disadvantages: Takes five years to build one. Shield systems on par with Caldari tech, armour and hull considerably below-par by EVE standards. No stored capacitor energy, no ability to boost shields or self-repair. Fixed equipment loadout means minimal tactical flexibility (by EVE standards). No capsule technology. Slower sublight speeds (not true across the board, but any EVE ship with an MWD easily outstrips the Enterprise at impulse).
EVE:
Advantages: Much shorter build times (we could build ten titans in the space of time it takes to build a single Enterprise). Ability to self-repair during combat. Considerably greater tactical flexibility due to the module system. Significantly sturdier on all fronts. EVE ship designers understand what a surge protector is for. Ability to fit warp core scramblers. Numbers. Immortal pilots.
Disadvantages: significantly shorter weapon and sensor ranges (scan probes notwithstanding)
Probable result:
The Enterprise kicks ass and takes names for a while until some recently-revived Capsuleer posts its apparent systems and capabilities on Galnet. Immediately, a fleet sets out that is perfectly kitted out to counter the Enterprise (probably a load of recon cruisers with a couple of covops frigates in support) and ends it, winning through a combination of numbers, tactical flexibility and forward planning. No more Enterprise problem, because Starfleet officers don't have clones.
Yeah, I've put way too much thought into this.... -
