In discussion of the upcoming changes, I have seen several references to "improved drone controls".
I've read the dev blogs and patch notes fairly carefully, but I didn't see anything I recognised as this.
Can someone please enlighten me here?
Sincerely,
A Myrmie pilot trying hard to be brave about it.

Button shortcuts for attack target, return to drone bay, etc, kinda like f1-f8 for you guns.

This was fixed on Singularity last time I checked. Support fixing the EVE UI | Suggest Jita fixes If you'd suicide gank yourself for what you're hauling, don't.

-You can detach the drone window from the overview and move it around. -You can set it so your drones automatically focus fire on one target. -You can set to "Passive"(Dont auto-acquire) and "Aggressive"(Kill anything red) drone behaviours. -Drones seem to "Flock" or stay in packs better then before. -Drones with Focus fire ON seem to attempt to fire simutaniously(improved volley?) -Drones seem not to bump into you as much.
(Sorry for the spelling)

I also saw an 'Assist' and 'Guard' option for my drones, but I couldn't seem to get them to do anything. Is this an advanced thing for Fighters? Or is Assist for, like, logistic drones?
I want a sort of mix between passive and aggressive. Get a selective AI going. What if I don't want my drones to attack automatically, unless it is a certain ship size? That would be neat.
Overall, I approve of all the drone upgrades. The little note on the target that your drones -are indeed- attacking it is nice. :)
Has anyone seen their drones wander away from a target and start attacking something else? Or any other weird behaviour?
Do the right thing. Don't leave shuttles in space. |

Assist and guard is in essence mimi fighter control. It only works in gangs but it means you can pass your drones to someone else, or set them to cover them. Aggressive/passive/focus fire are nice but not the real change.
The real changes to drones are key binds (shortcuts if you want ) just hit esc and look at the shortcuts tab, you can setup binds for attackign and scooping, haven't worked out exactly which keys to bind them to but it mean you don't really need your drone window in fleet fights anymore.

I like Control + Numpad 1 to 3 for Attacking and Coming back. Sure, could be faster, but it is fairly fool proved
