Turn HDR off in EVE & let nHancer do the work.
Also, with these settings, I've noticed that when I launch EVE, the AA is not activated. Just 'Esc' out & hit one of the apply buttons in the graphics settings without doing any changes, 'Esc' out again. That should do it.

That sounds weird, you sure it's nHancer forcing this?
Friend of mine had similar things happening & was ****ed at the EVE Launcher app not letting him keep EVE maximized with the "Semi-full screen" mode using a dual screen setup (client minimizes if running fullscreen & clicking on secondary display window). Turns out he constantly forgot to press "Apply" when setting window-mode in the EVE graphics configuration :)
I'm not saying you are doing something similar, just asking if you think you've eliminated the most obvious (and therefore maybe easily overlooked) possibilties since I've never heard nHancer can even force a resolution?

Do you notice any difference in Eve performance depending on where the HDR is activated?
The reason I ask is that pre-Trinity EVE gave me better framerates if FSAA was activated via the drivers vs. Eve's graphics settings. ...

Hello there! I want to have both HDR and AA. It works fine with nhancer, but ONLY in fullscreen.
Any ideas what i can try to get it to work in windowed mode? Reason is, that i love to use semi-fullscreen through eve-launcher.
Thanks in Advance!

Have not checked yet, but won't the NVidia control panel work for this? If you force those settings under the program/game list? |

I use nHancer, too, and set it for 16x CSAA and 8x super-sampled transparency AA. I use Normal shadows and Low bloom. I get between 40-60fps when sitting in a large POS bubble with all the POS modules about, and that's about as "bad" as it gets. I get 60-70fps in other places, including Jita 4-4 undock, and over 100fps in station.

That's odd, the first time I ran EVE Trinity (TQ) under nHancer, it opened in windowed mode, but I prefer full screen. It was no big deal though, alt+enter toggles between full and windowed, no problem.

hm... when i choose "supersampling 4x S" it's all fine in fullscreen, but kind of wierd in windowed mode... i mean, it DOES something... it all looks kind of softer, but more like running a tft with a lower resolution than the native one.

No, I cannot activate HDR ingame since it then turns off any AA set through the drivers. The only way to get HDRI working for me has been to disable it in EVE & force it with the nHancer Oblivion trick. Neither have I performed any benchmarking running only with HDRI (shifting between nHancer/EVE HDRI) & no AA since in my opinion, AA is a visual requirement to enjoy this games graphics to it's fullest. I simply cannot stand ugly jaggiez.

I have had no problems (ie. few problems) running windowed or semi windowed through EVE Launcher. I just hit escape, and then escape again at the logon screen if I notice that AA is not active (easy to see near the planet/starlight). This seems to pair up the AA with HDRI & the jaggiez are gone.

Ok, i made something wrong. I had HDR activated in Eve. But also in nhancer. But it still don't work! So:
fullscreen + hdr in eve + aa = works
window + hdr in eve + aa = don't works
window + no hdr in eve + aa = works
window + no hdr in eve + hdr over nhancer = aa yes, but no hdr
Pressing ESC doesn't change anything...

Just fine , keep shadows at high tho or you lose 50FPS in station

In Vista, I had to use global settings in nhancer rather than profile specific ones just to get this to work. Also, strangely, AA didn't work unless I had HDR turned on as well - possibly from selection of Oblivion compat mode.

Edited by: Rekona on 06/12/2007 23:13:33 I can't even install nHancer. Get some sort of error like this .
----------- "EDIT: Bah I can't seem to install it it keeps saying it can't find disk1.cab
EDIT 2: Ok if your getting an error saying it can't find disk1.cab do the following...
Try to install when you get the "can't find disk1.cab" error don't click cancel instead go to C:\Documents and Settings\*your user name*\Application Data\Kornd÷rfer Software Engineering\nHancer\install
Copy the files "nhancer.exe & disk1.cab to the desktop click cancel on the error message and install the files from the desktop it should now install as usual " ----------------------------------
They've posted a solution on this board http://www.rage3d.com/Board/showthread.php?p=1335172232 . However I cannot locate those files and as such can't still cannot active Antialiasing in EVE. *sighs*

Now, I don't know if you are running XP or Vista but I searched the registry on my own Vista machine, and it turns out that these files:
disk1.cab nHancer.msi
are actually located under:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\KSE\nHancer\install
so my bet is that if you are running XP, they would be located here:
C:\Documents and Settings\[USERNAME]\Application Data\KSE\nHancer\install
Hope this helps.

Okay I was able to install nHancer. One of those screenshots has a "DISABLED PREDEFINED PROFILE". How do you disable a profile? http://img89.imageshack.us/my.php?image=evenhancer02fc6.png
then I need to make another profile with those settings for EVE right?

I've created another profile for Eve Online in nHancer and used the settings of Erragan Saddar, but the predefined profile by Nvidia doesn't disable itself.

I had to duplicate the predefined profile to disable it anyway it still doesn't work. Maybe it's not so compatible with 8800 cards for anti Aliasing.

I have a 8600GT 256mb, 2,2ghz core2duo and 2gb ram and im only getting 30-45fps at gates with only a few npc present. It helps a little bit to use fullscreen but my question is, can i expect more performance from my hardware?

Had to turn off HDR via the Client and force it through nHancer to get AA32S windowed. Works like a charm (even on Vista64) and looks absolutely stunning.

Its called "ExeFile.exe" and is located in the "bin" folder of your eve installation. |
