Who else is getting this message? I have tried re-downloading the installer about 6 times now all with the same result. The installer crashes randomly while decompressing a file.
Is there a workaround to this? I am getting extremely tired of seeing that message. _______

I'm getting this exact same thing, I've even tried re-downloading the entire classic client, I just can't seem to get it to work. The file is ALWAYS corrupt in some way.

I had serious trouble with the 1 gig installer (complete w/ new graphics); it kept crashing on me several times when I tried to install in a different location than the default one (even got a few 'this is not a valid win32 application' errors). I finally got it working by manually deleting the crash warning process from task manager and behold - it installed the client

Sorry mate, I don't remember. I was so frustrated at the point that i just went desperate I guess. Had to do several cold reboots as well. I think the process appeared at the top of the list if that helps

And then crash.
Oh, your method doesn't work for these errors.
Does anyone have anyway to manually install this? |

Im getting progressively farther and farther in the installation. I used to get stuck on resCOSMOS.stuff, now I got to resSND.stuff. Nonetheless, this is ridiculous. It'd be nice if we could get some dev help in here.

Web Link. I guess it's time to try the torrent, assuming I can find it for the classic one.

Well, I've tried 7 different downloads now, a defragment, a defragment of system files and of the specific EVE file, a SFC /Scannow and a Scandisk.
Even older clients aren't working anymore.
Nothing.
I'm going to be reinstalling my OS pretty soon here.

I'm having the same issue. I've downloaded the 1.1 GB file as well as updating the classic client to the latest level and trying the premium content patch - no luck for either.
On the client download page each of the downloads has a SHA1SUM in ridiculously small print listed underneath it.
You can use this program to check whether or not the file you have matches the SHA1SUM of the file on the server:
ftp://ftp.gnupg.org/gcrypt/binary/sha1sum.exe
For me, the SHA1SUM shows to be the same every time I download the file, but it's never the same as the one listed on the server. At this point I suspect the issue is with my system - maybe a RAM error or something.
Windows 2000, SP<latest> - all patches up to date AMD Athlon XP 2800
I'll post back if I ever manage to figure it out - please do the same!

Quote: Finally got it to install, for those still having trouble, try underclocking your computer.
Try doing that. It fixed my error.
I think it has something to do with the Data being decompressed faster then the HDD can write or something.
