Why is it so flat? and what happened to the yellow stripes I loved, oh and when looking at the flames straight on they dont look like flames :(
Looks bigger than the old hulk and overall there are more things moving on the ship. But the colours look off and to me it seems its lacking the dirty industrial feel.
And concerning the flames, they look fine from most angles but straight on they look really bad, is that just my graphics card? or is that intentional?

they are using sprites for flame effects. partical effects for flames i think are due out later.

I too pref. the yellow/black stripes aswell as the not so flat Hulk.

oh, they are called sprites.. wasnt sure.. thanks :D
Guess that explains it.. still looks a bit sucky though

I'm more angry at the strip miner effect change.... they look like small pulse lasers now instead of the powerful beam they used to be. |

I find the original Hulk design to have been more interesting and inspired due to more contrasting curves and shapes.
The new wire frame looks strictly rectilinear and simpler - quicker and easier to make than rebuilding the carefully thought out original (caution markings at all moving parts and doors, railings, ore smelting stacks, etc.
All the beautiful contrasting compound curves of the old model are gone, replaced by simple "racing stripes".
I hope this is a bug:
The old red strip miner lasers and sounds were far higher quality than the new quickly animated blinking blue lasers (their miner I sound does not match the laser animation lase time - lasing termination is very far off timing-wise.
The old red strip miner lasers had a light diffusion effect (probably caused by particulate ore floating in space at the laser head when it fired) the new simple blue one does not.
Overall the Hulk was not what I had been expecting.

Oh man you are so right. The Hulk is by far the worst model I've seen in trinity. The more I use it the more I hate it. As for the model Ok, s'pose someone could see certain beauty in it(not me), agressiveness ... whatever. But the new strip miner outlook ... sigh ...
That puny blue "spit" is suposed to represent the mighty rock crushing and smashing beam from the previous version ?!? No way, Hose!
The sound is equivalently horrible. I have to turn it off when I mine cause it sounds like someone using a dull sawblade.
I am thinking of ditching the mining alltogether.

Yep, I'm doing the old client for mining too now. 
Everything looks and sounds SO MUCH better.

Still using the old client too. Hulk looks like something came out from the PC game Freelancer. A game that was released 8 years ago. No Comment...
