The op and the comments made just seem out of class given how well you guys fight. Where is the risk/reward for killin a ratting ship? Do you feel your doing justice to the eve community and the markets by blowin up someone's ship who isn't tanked in your 11k mach? You can waste all day trying to find these guys and whats it really worth? where is the thrill, they have no chance in hell so you got all of us confused on that one.
Second, metagaming is a problem but your wasting your time with the ctrl q here. Its there, been there, they tweeked it by not em-warp out of a bubble, after that its just the way it is. If you couldn't kill the target in the system, nor catch him on the other side, bring the dps to destroy it in under a min, have probes with scan times of less than 30 seconds, to keep the target aggro'd, you fail. Continue on and repeat.
Third, your cloaking comments are just missplaced and really ridiculous. Most people aggree that AFK cloaking is BS but ships that are set up to engage and only do so when they have a tactical advantage is hardcore PVP. Just cause they wont come out when your 4 mach fleet is around, well boo hoo.
People talk about honor and all that jazz well thats great, but this is a combat simulator and nobody gives a **** who is a gentlemen on the field (smack talk aside). If you're out to be a KM ***** then yeah be ****ed cause you cant rack up that extra few BS's killz your leet maxor epeenwtfmobile should have gotten. If you are out for an honorable duel, yeah be ****ed cause nobody is going to bring it on even terms. Either you win get the kill or don't. Blob, gank, spy, cheat steal, whatever, I am not condoning any of it and it does get to me and I do get ****ed but to try and rationalize it out is just nuts.
all in good spirits m8, everyone did get excited about the undock radii. too bad, although cap pilots were ****ting themselves silly so might not have had the best outcome overall

Well if they cloak up would it really have been a good fight? Thats the point i am trying to make, people fight when they feel they can win, they don't when they think they are gonna die. Some will roll the dice but if you don't do your part and convince them they can win then you aren't flying right and will only rely on the occasional lucky situation or dumb pilot or mistake. This game is more about convincing your targets they can win and entice them to fight than anything else. The mach and how i have seen them used is just an extreme example poor baiting.
