I'm running the premium graphics version of Trinity on my XPS laptop. It's got more than enough of everything required to run the higher-end graphics.
Everything was working fine for about an hour, when all of a sudden my Domi turned solid white while docked. Not 'shaded' white, but just a solid white block of empty space where the Domi should have been.
I can still turn the ship around and the white blob moves as if the ship 'should' be there.. but no ship.
I changed ships a couple times to see if it was fixable that way, and though the ships would initially show up just fine - as soon as I try to rotate the camera view they turn solid white as well.
I checked my graphics card and it wasn't overheated.. in fact it was less than halfway up the temperature range before it even starts slowing itself down.
The fans on the machine weren't running any faster than normal.. so I dont know what is causing this.
I haven't tried to undock to see if it happens in space as well, but will be trying that next time I log in.
Anyone else having this glitch?
Kudos, WHeis

I have that issue too, although not to the same degree as you. My problems only start when i leave dock and only the stations and ships go white.
Apparently CCP didnt think about laptop Eve players when they made this disaster of a patch.

If I have to run the non-highend graphics version on my laptop I guess I can live with that.. it's just a shame that all the $$$ I put into a system that met the requirements for playing the ubergraphics version doesn't seem to be doing it.
I could have saved a ton of money if I had passed on all the ram/cpu/hdd-rpm/video upgrades that are in this thing.
But, I'm guessing that 'maybe' CCP will figure something out to fix it. It's odd that the only real difference between the laptop and the desktop that I'm running EvE on is the size of the motherboard/keyboard.
Thanks for responding all.. makes me feel less 'did I do something wrong' when it's not just me seeing this.

I am also having the white ship and white space issues on my laptop...
I'm hoping for a fix soon, if not, it was a fun game while I was able to play it. I am not even using "premium" content. And the standard client's RAM usage went way up as well... I can no longer have 3 clients running..
Opinions reflected on my posts are just that, my opinions. They do not reflect views held by my corp or alliance. |

I had the same problem, only when undocked.
Updating the graphics card drivers fixed it.

Have a similar problem, some textures of my ship will sometimes turn into unshaded bright yellow. It only seems to happen from some angles. I'll try updating graphics card drivers to see if it fixes it.
Also, to everyone that's having similar texture problems, what graphics card are you running EVE on? ATI X1400 here.

btw I only have that white space issue on 1 character which is just price checking alt so I haventntohered to fix it, but I have zero idea why it only affects 1 character when I run them all on same client

Update your graphics card driver and I have a good feeling your problem will be solved. My friend had the very issue you are describing and a simple driver update fixed the problem. Hope that helps.

Ya. x1400 as well. Would you mind telling me whether you're using a laptop or a desktop, Tamia? To my knowledge that is a laptop only card, but I'm more then likely wrong.
My lappy is having issues running the thing too - premium it just does not like at all, and it's doing the strange shading and texture thing aforementioned by the OP quite often. Also - on my desktop (dual-core CPU and an 8600GT), when I'm docked but don't have the station environment loaded it does a strange thing where I will change ships and it just will not display the new ship model. Once I load the station environment it will take a while and load it again, but not when the environment isn't loaded.
Peculiar.
Any one else getting this second problem? _____________________________ Eldo spanked my sig but I can't be bothered changing it just now. |

That's not letting me get anything - the news there says they are in the process of moving site. Have bookmarked it though. Thanks. _____________________________ Eldo spanked my sig but I can't be bothered changing it just now. |

Thank you Captain Obvious, but ive tried that and it only reverted my settings to 640 x 480 with minimum colours. And i could only install the same old drivers again to solve it. CCP will need to fix this.

Go to the forums. Grab the appropriate drivers from there, extract, then save the modified INF file inside the folder where you extracted the drives and then install. ----------------------------------- CCP Please update my portrait on the website/forums :D

You are correct, X1400 is a laptop-only card. Looks like so far only laptop graphics cards are having the texturing issue.

Hmmm funnely i have the very same problem. I have a dell inspiron 9400:
256 Mb Nvidia Geforce Go Intel Pentium T2400 Dual core 1.83 Ghz cpu 2048 MB (667 Mhz) ram 100 GB 7200 Rpm disk
I paid a rather decent sum of money for that piece of crap a year ago or so. Now i went to www.nvidia.com to update my drivers, apparantly i have to download Dell drivers. Dell have their own drivers, oh and Dell has never updated their drivers. How can that be legal? They use a Nvidia Gpu, with a Dell fix, only allowing it to work with this bios, and Dells assigned drivers?
If someone have any good piece of advice for me eccept to buy a new one, wich i most likely will anyways, I will be very glad to hear it.
Oh and more crap about this Dell laptop I have broken 2 batteries (They stopped charging) - Had to buy new, couldnt be fixed 1 adapter - wich i fixed. Nearly got sued by Dell for making a blog about me opening and fixing the Dell adapter (They have a soft spot and a couple weaknesses and is poorly made, I know, i work with this **** in RL) but that is a long story. The sound is buggered, I thought it was software related, but seeing as ive recently reinstalled windows and all drivers i have narrowed it down to bad connection on the audio outlet and bad connection onboard between the outlet and the motherboard. But ill fix that tomorrow or so.
So kids stay the **** away from Dell, they are evil. Ooomph

I have this problem too but not to a great extent. It only happens when I undock from a station and the station turns white for a few seconds then is ok.
That is with an ATIx1300 graphics card (yes I need a better one ) in my desktop not laptop.
It has only been since the patch. I am not the only one I know of that this is happening with.
