As of now since Trinity came the " Recommended requirments" for EVE is minimum Geforce 7950 or ATI x1900 256mb ( Shader model 3 ofcourse ).
Now there will be more upgrades to increase the performance on EVE's graphics for Trinity right? So will the requirements get even higher then this?
My issue is I am building a computer but has yet to decide what graphiccard to buy. If I find out requirments will increase I will sadly have to buy a HD3870 but if it doesn't I can do with a HD2600XT Extreme to save money as I will do a high-end upgrade this summer when I have cash.
So my question is: Will the Requirements for Trinity get even higher? Somebody set up us the bomb |

And if they did, they would be optional turn on/off graphical options, just like with trinity 1.1

Its called the evolution of technology, them specs aint high at all.
Technology is moving so damn fast now, you have intel releasing new Core 2 Duo's and Core 2 Quads every 5 mins and they are bringing out the New Octo (8 Core) CPU's next year.
You've got Nvida and ATI kicking each other up the backside as they are bringing out new extreme graphics cards every 5mins you have Vista with Direct X 10 so basically Companies like CCP will keep updating the game, and some time in the future they will up the specs even more but thats a long time off yet.
And i would Recommend the Nvida 8800GT Graphics card :) or if you have the cash 8800 Ultra :)

Thats because the minimum requirements are based on a hopeless optimists point of view ;)
Recommended system configuration for running EVE-Online
* OS: Windows« System XP / Vista * CPU: Intel Pentium« IV 2 GHz or AMD XP 2000+ MHz * RAM: 2048 MB * HD space: 8.0 GB * Video: 256MB GeForce 7950 or higher, ATi Radeon X1900 or higher and Similar chips from other manufacturers * Network: Broadband Internet connection * Drivers: DirectX« 9.0c (included) and latest video drivers

My system:
AMD X2 Dual Core 4800+ GeForce 8800GTS XT Edition 2GB RAM
I can BARELY run 2 accounts at around 30 fps with premium and shadows turned to high rather than extreme (inhibits performance even more..).

Really, how long can you really expect CCP to hold everyone else up because you can't/won't upgrade ?
Go play Diablo II if the current specs are too high.
Really, how long did you know that the patch was coming ?
Did you even try testing on Sisi ?
I think that most "modern" (last year!) programs require less than CCP needs for Trinity. --

I didn't complain at high specs, I am just asking what i need for an upgrade. I am actually glad they made this expansion finally I have a reason to upgrade my comp. Trying to get away as cheap as possible here until summer when I actually can do an High-End upgrade.
MY system to upgrade to is: AMD Athlon x2 4000+ Gigabyte GA-M69G-S3H 2 - 4GB RAM PC6400 Graphiccard: This is where i need help. Will the HD2600XT Xtreme 256mb or x1950GT 512mb be enough to run Premium good?
Price really matter here so I will only go up to a HD3850/70 or 8800GT if I really have to, if I can't run Premium properly. I play at 1280 x 1024 resolution so i guess 256mb of memory is enough? So please help me with a graphiccard.
now back to my first question: Will the Requirements for EVE increase even more before summer or will it not until they release EVE with DX10? Somebody set up us the bomb |

Well the new graphic content was indeed to boost the "wow" effect but of course if you are using SM 3.0 and other gimmicks that the requirements will raise. But for this guys CCP has made it possible to still run classic version and there well I still can run 4 accounts and it works fine. Machine:
AMD Athlon X2 3800 2 GB Ram Geforce 6800 GS 200 GB Harddisk (7200 rpm) Windows XP

I'm just barely below the requirements for Premium, and I just can't handle it. But I'm running Classic like a dream come true (after a few initial jitters, and this doesn't count the usual bugs and errors that aren't due to my computer). ---

Trinity runs so smooth Elhina, you should stick a 8800GT or something similar ( wich will prolly be available by summer time) in your next rig and away you go.
Don't forget a nice fast harddrive or a pair of raptors in raid 0 mode. _____________________________________

I'd recommend getting a 8800GT, just because it's such a good buy price/performance-wise, and if you're patient and shop around a bit, you can find them for close to what the MSRP is ($199/249).
easily the best bang-for-the-buck video card out there atm, and one of the top performing one as well.

Actually, I bought an HD2600XT a couple of months ago, mainly aiming to play EVE with the Premium Content.
I'm a bit dissapointed with the performance I'm getting now (e.g. 30fps in stations). In fact, not only the performance drops when there are a number of ships around, but if I get damage in the ship's structure, and therefore the trail of fire and smoke appears, my game almost becomes an slideshow in battle against four or five ships. That said, I don't think I'll be able to engage in serious battles with Premium Content enabled.
Therefore, if you want to run Premium good, you'll probably need a better graphics card than the HD2600XT :(

IM running the new content. But i think the game graphics are way too crappy for the requirements. Other games are alot prettier and run alot more smoothly.
Using a GF 7600GS at 1280x1024, no hdr and medium shadows. The worst pvp'er in EVE :

Something to consider when looking at upgrading is that NVidia seem likely to roll out their new cards in February of next year. That would imply a price drop on their current stuff. -- (Battle hardened industrialist)
