So im trying to find a cosmic signature with this probe, its a 1000au probe with 1 str.
how "hard" will it be to find said plex? im looking for estimates here from people who tried.

Your not going to find anything with a recon probe except ships and drones.
Use exploration probes instead.

its supposed to be a hidden complex, not an exploration site, are you sure?

Even the highest signal strength (ie crappiest reward) sites can take 5 or more scans with quests to find (400 str to proper type), on an observators 1 strength, that equates to 2000 scans. even taking into account the reduced scan time on observators vs quests (recon probe launcher vs scan probe launcher), you're still looking at, assuming 5 quest scans, over 12 hours worth of observator probing.
And that's just to get a hit, if you do get a hit, it'll probably have tremendous signal deviation.

Yes, Use quest probes.
Btw if you're looking for something in minmatar COSMOS, go to planet 5 moon 3.

You are not restricted to finding only ships and drones using this probe. I was able to track down a deadspace signature using recon probes and recon launcher last night.
It turned out to be a Radar site with hacking structures in it.
Not sure if it makes a difference that all my appropriate skills are level 5, but none the less it happened

No, you aren't restricted from finding them, but the chance of doing so successfully is absurdly low.
