I posed a question in another thread on this subject but have had no response. Does anyone think long range/mwd'd scorp using sensor damps is viable?
I was thinking about:
4 sensor damps; cpu sensor amp; 2 passive targeters and an MWD
With long range targetting at lvl 3 or 4
Could this be suicidal? (Fleet situation).
I have not tried this setup, because I am generally more cautious (tanked). However, it might severely hamper two enemy BS, without them knowing which ship is the prob. (due to the passives). Comments?

I have never used passive targeters. I assume they allow only one target per unit. Is that wrong?

They allow you to target without the target knowing about it, but once you fire or activate a module they will see that you have targeted them.

Not 100% sure but as sensor dampeners are no offensive action there is a chance that the target can't see who is dampening him. I think a passive targetter may be worth a try in fleet battles as hardly anybody shoots at you as long as you are no threat to him which may give some security to the EW ships...

If the players are smart and have the auto-scanner set to show whos attacking you, they can figure it out. Id say go with: 5x ECM Multispec 1x Sensor Booster 1x Large Shield Booster (named would be good) 1x 100MN MWD (if you really want one)
For fleet fighting, ECMs are more useful than dampers, as some of your fleet will be close enough to be shot at anyways, plus 2 dampers per target isnt very much. With ECM Multispecs you can target 2-3 ships, and take turns jamming each one after every activation cycle.
Passive targetters are a complete waste of time for fleet battles, as everyone will be shooting everyone they can, regardless if you have them locked or not (altho those who are jamming or doing tons of damage get targetted first). Scorpions are always assumed to be jamming, unless they see them using 4-5 shield hardeners. ********** Everyone deserves to die. You go first.

Passive Targetters only work till you do a hostile action (ie dampning them) so there is no point of using them.
