The rest of your post makes you look like you're talking out of your ass to the point I'm not even sure I wanted to respond, because you do infact look like either a troll, or using fake guises as some sort of merit to champion the cause of a safe highsec.
Explain how CCP is catering to only a couple of huge alliances. Give specifics. I could make quite a lovely list of how CCP has cater'd to highsec in response.. if you actually do put forth a reasonable legit list.
CCP is a business.. they want money. They also have pride, and want to create a grand game that people enjoy. Simply on those two notions.. they care about every single sub, new or old or middle aged. They need to create a product people enjoy, and they need the money to continue that.
The very rare EVE model of sandbox, Everybody Verse Everybody which includes consent and nonconsent, direct and undirect ripple effects.. is working. It isn't for everyone.. no game nor any one thing will ever be for everyone. Be glad you're blessed with Choice. How many MMOs can claim a growing sub-base that spans nearly 9 years? How many ultimately end up going on a downward slope over the cross of their existence instead?
Make a perfectly safe sigment of EVE.. and poof goes large, vital chunks of the population. There will be less explosions and boomboom.. which in turn makes traders/manufacturers/scientists leave the game because their sigment took a sharp hit from both no boom highsec, and loss of core combat pilots that are revolting the change. LP shrinks in value even more, much more so.. mission/incursion runners ***** fit about their diminishing gains and quit. Those that stick around, safely get their the bestest possible faction fit ship.. do the same thing over n over n over n over with it safely, and quit from repeatitive boredom that the vast majority of MMOs suffer from.
It is and always will be a stupid, dumb ass idea to make all of or portions of highsec completely and 100% safe.
And you know what might happen to those that stick around? They move to null cause that is where the only action remains in the game. What is the point of safely harvesting Isk if you do not use?
When your friends killed their characters.. their wallets are gone, their faction fit puppy ships gone, expensive implants gone.. the only thing they will have left, is their memories. Same goes for everybody that biomass. The more you use what you have ingame, the more memories you'll create. The more you cuddle those things, and take sigments away.. the less chance of creating more epic memories than before. You're going to lose it all eventually anyway.
You even set yourself up at the end of your post.. knowing the shitstorm you'd take. Why?
Simple.. how would you like it if I walked in your house, **** on your wall and told you it looks better cause I said so?
Exactly.
Don't change the core foundation of EVE.. go find a different game that already as what you want in place to make you happy.
EDIT: I don't play WoW. I respect what it is and understand it is a good game for its time. Rather than play it and sit around, bitching about them changing the foundation of it to fit me.. I simply don't play it and found a game that is more to my taste and style. |
