I know how stupid am I that I am still messed up over the boot.ini issue.
I made the mistake of rebooting with a bad boot.ini file. Then I couldn't see the hal.dll file.
So I tried to rebuild the boot.ini file like CCP says to, but I didn't remember the admin password. So in my own stupidity I reinstalled windows. Which I thought would be fine since this box is just for gaming so I don't mind getting it wiped all that much. However for some reason now I can't seem to get the right combo of drives to get my video card back up and working (dell can not tell me what it is, and it doesn't say on the card itself).
If part of my issues were not from my own mistakes and a game company had done this all their own I would be canceling my account at this point.
Can anyone point me to a single post where CCP acknowledges that someone there has some remorse for the boot.ini screw up?

go to start-->run and type in dxdiag then hit enter. when it loads up, go to the graphics tab and hit the button at the lower right, it should say "save all information..." or similar. save it to a spot you know where it will be and cut and paste it here, i will try to help you further.

I thought I fixed it as I followed the instructions provided by CCP, but I did not reboot until the weekend as I was afraid I'd lose my work PC...well i just rebooted and am getting the <Windows Root>\system32\hal.dll error and PC won't boot. Looking all over now on how to resolve this....
